For perspective, if it were freely usable by anyone, it’d become a mandatory-feeling power upgrade, and you’d see nothing but Hiveminds everywhere. Like this, it’s an awesome looking, prestigious mount, with just a tiny extra bonus.— ✨🐉 (@Celestalon) December 17, 2018

I love the logic behind not wanting everyone on the same mount (waterstriders say hello), which makes sense, but they always handle things the wrong way. Remember how they wanted to fix that waterstrider problem in Legion by disabling waterwalking on them? Why not make all mounts able to walk on water via a spell that many classes have?
The limitation of only being a group mount for that one specific group is incredibly asinine. I don't have an M+ group. Hell, 90% of my guild doesn't either. Even if I did, why would anyone want a permanent link with them? I got the mount with 2 guildies and 2 "pugs" found in lfg. I don't even remember their names.
PLEASE just disable the mounted speed in instanced content, its a no-brainer, why make an issue out of nothing? Allow anyone to jump into ur hivemind (up to 5) and disable the extra speed for instanced content or other problem areas.
I feel like they should just remove that extra speed bonus all together at this point then. It makes solo/pug players never able to benefit from it, as 90% of the people with the mount will never see anyone they got the mount with again in life, yet groups of 5 people that always play together now have a distinct advantage over everyone else, this is harmful to both the pug world and large guilds, as if you want to do M+ with anyone outside of your other 4 base friends you lose that speed buff, causing you to only want to play with those exact 4 other players in 5man content.
Frankly they just need to restrict the movement speed to the group you did it with, but let you carry random people around.I foresee people forgoing the movement speed in favor of carrying people and doing this puzzle on an alt they are never going to use. Since alts can carry random people.
Making it so only the players that completed the puzzle with you will simply put pugs at a disadvantage... M+ groups will still be able to take advantage of the speed boost because most-likely they will have done the puzzle together, so if you pug your at a slight disadvantageWhere the huge disadvantage comes is in RBGs where moving to an objective and being the first one there makes a big difference. this will make pugging RBGs practically a guaranteed loss if you play against an organized team who can take advantage of this buff. Personally I believe the buff should apply to anyone who enters the mount and not just your hive making it fair for everyone because ultimately pugs are at a disadvantage and organized groups will just have to do the puzzle again to swap out players which is just poor design, it isnt fun gameplay having to do the same puzzle for the 100th time just because you made a roster change its just a waste of time. Some compromise could be 1) you have to have the mount yourself to enter anyone's hivemind, that way if someone hasn't done the secret they cannot take advantage of the speed buff.2) You can enter anyone's hivemind so long as you have your own but the speed buff only applys to the players who did the puzzle with you (I still believe it should apply the buff regardless of if the player did the puzzle with you or not but this is what some players want)3) The buff cannot be used in M+ or pvp (Eliminating the disadvantage) but still allow carrying anyone with the mount regardless of whether they did the puzzle with you so long as they have the mount themselves.the simplest fix would be to disable this buff in Mythic + dungeons and PVP This would take away the possibility of this mount becoming “Mandatory” however many players including myself believe that the mount should be able to carry any 5 players and not only those who have done the puzzle with you.
That's a brilliant idea. This is the kind of thing that makes the game unique, it makes me want to keep playing and discover new things in the future. Keep going with those things Blizzard, it is amazing!
So the first ever 5 person mount with a speed buff has limitations to who exactly can use it. How is that a problem exactly?
What the hell Blizzard! You finally give us a 5-person mount and you now make the desire to get it no longer a priority for people to even want to get it. The Hivemind looks just like a brain. The brain itself has millions if not billions of connections that are necessary for us to live our lives, it is the simple mechanics of our brains. It is what makes us capable to play World of Warcraft. I understand limiting the buff to those you do the puzzles with, but just like the brain, don't disconnect the people you previously did the puzzles with. Just make it a 5-person mount with connections to more than the four people you did the puzzles with to get the mount! Just like in nature, bees are social and there are not just a few of them in a hive and it grows as time goes along. Let people have the buff with all their battle.net friends that have the mount that they do the puzzles with, with all the mains and alts they each have! Also, as we play the game, we make new connections and friends, it is the social aspect of the game. Just like our brains continually make new connections as we live our lives. Give people more the desire to help others in game like with helping others get the mount that they have become battle.net friends with. Simply, use the mount as another way to increase people being more social in the game!
This is GREAT! I think this is the perfect feature for The HIVE MIND mount, it makes complete and total sense! After all it is a HIVE MIND. Just because you all assumed that it was a 5 person mount is not Blizzards fault.
Wow! Very cool and unique mount that was a blast for people to solve and to acquire. Yet, Blizz still gets #$%^. I'm blown away sometimes by the entitlement.
