Looks like revamped version of the Netherlight Crucible. Not surpised, as I figured that it was a precursor for something new when it came out. I actually like the idea of the Netherlight Crucible, just not the RNG of the relics as they can vary greatly as well as have some big RNG for DPS and Healing numbers.I like what I see of the new system, so far, though.
Oh man the survival ones like Vigorous Wings look awesome.
I think this is a fine tweak to the artifact system. It's basically the same as the old Wrath-era best in slot concept, except those best in slot pieces can now have transformative effects like legendary or tier gear procs, instead of simply stats. Not needing to grind for offspecs or take up bag space is a bonus. My only concern is what'll happen when a person starts playing 4 months after launch compared to someone who starts playing right away.
Spell text for Lightningburn has "Elemental/Restoration" at the bottom, written description has "Elemental/Enhancement".
Um. Way too similar between hunter and shaman... These are so boring...
Question is, will we be able to change those traits after selecting? Or will it be like the current relics where every choice is permanent? The later would kinda suck and mean we have to farm multiple same items because I'm pretty sure the best trait is situational, as always, especially in M+ with changing affixes every week..
Tier 2 spells are identical for huner and shaman - I assume this is a mistake as the abilities are all shaman-themed names and icons.I'm yet to be sold on this system compared with tier sets but we'll see more as they develop it.ETA: I'm not a big fan of the netherlight crucible as you cannot unlearn and relearn traits (like talents) so there is little opportunity to experiment and the traits are a little underwhelming in most cases anyway. It felt like a bolt-on towards the end of Legion to give people a continuning reason for acquiring artifact power rather than a design principle for future expansions. We'll have to see how the heart empowers the three pieces currently proposed but farming Azerite to level up / customise the heart to empower the three "replacement for tier" pieces doesn't reach out and grab me.
Why can't they just stop with these "systems"? Want to have players feel they progress in the game? More raids, better gear. Want to give us mov. speed or shields? There's a profession called "Enchanting", instead of flat increases of stats, which just makes it unavoidable, annoying and mandatory. Why don't make it fun? Reforging was good enough. In any case, with the exponential output of certain secondary stats, receiving loot is not as "cool" as you want it to be, because a ring with these stats can be better than another, +30 ilvls, ring with different stats, and we need to check raidbots before changing our previous one, anyways.Add ranked spells as we level up, plus a couple extra skills. No titanforging, no legendaries, no useless "grinding" of power -.-uThe game was fun before. Now... what a load of non-sense -.-uOk, just re-read my comment and it sounded way too much of a cry from one of those people who say "WoW is dead". I'm not that negative. I've been playing since early WotLK and I enjoy WoW. But I seriously think they keep f*cking things up. It's like devs don't play the same game we do anymore :(
Lame, the whole "artifact" system is bad and i knew this before the launch of Legion. Wonder how long will they keep this system implemented in the game
It is important to note that the system is still entirely unavailable on the Alpha to players, and everything is pure datamining, so anything you see here may be placeholders and a work-in-progress.
None of these traits made me excited to play with. They seem to have no impact on gameplay (except aoe vs single target choices) and to be very susceptible to yet another cookie-cutter build.
That looks insanely boring. Not really much incentive for me to level up that thing, I guess.
tbhi didnt care for the artifact system or the netherlight system either. i play both hunter and shaman and yeah im not overly interested in these "choices" for talents. the speed boosts and sheilds sound useful but the rest sounds like a bore.
Those traits are probably quest items traits and it's too early in alpha to criticize. I believe (and hope) that raids one will open more doors to alternative gameplay (active spells, game-changing proc like CDR or a special spell crit).
