Wrathion is, of course, not very good at not being the center of a deception. Sounds like Sabellion plays him like the arrogant child he's always been.
On one side we have Wrathion who cause the Draenor invasion and thus indirectly the Legion invasion, was nowhere to be found during Legion and has slaughtered every black dragon he has met other than Ebyssian. On the other side we have Sabellian who stayed in Outland away from the madness of the Old Gods and waited until the time he could return and revitalize his flight. One cares for power and being important, the other actually cares for his dragonflight to be reestablished. Now who should be the leader . . .
Lol, Wrathion's dragon form is so smol even compared to Sabellian! His model is much cooler though, I hope he becomes Aspect-sized during the expansion.
still wrathion, blizzard wouldn't dare to give the leadership of the black flight to some c-list dragon from dirty outland
I 100% support Sabellian. He's older and more experienced, I don't dislike Wrathion but as the forgemaster said: "Though I like Wrathion, he is untempered. Sabellian has been forged in fire". Sabellian has been rebuilding the flight free from Deathwing's corruption, he was cut off from the whispers on Outland, he was Neltharion's lieutenant and second in command which gives him experience. He fought against Gruul and the corruption of his flight and prevailed. Here he teaches Wrathion a lesson in strategy and shows he is fit for leadership while Wrathion spent the whole time complaining and being impatient, another sign of his youth and inexperience. Neltharion has literally single handedly ensured the future of the flight, built a flight free of corruption and has been safeguarding black eggs all this time. Not to mention he's actually Neltharion's son and is the last actual son of Neltharion which gives him a greater claim to the Obsidian Throne. Did he follow Neltharion initially? Yes he aided his father as duty demanded, but as soon as the enormity of Neltharion's betrayal became clear he abandoned him and scorned his evil. Then he focused his efforts on rebuilding the flight free of his father's corruption instead of flying around murdering his kin in cold blood. Wrathion is still a whelp and has a lot to learn, which is seen clearly in his rookie mistakes that nearly cost all of Azeroth. He lacks the experience and maturity that comes with age. He's to caught up in his own arrogance and self importance. As Sabellian says: "youth makes fools of us all".P.S. I will say both of them would make a better Aspect than Ebonhorn who may end up being the compromise. He lacks the complexity and personality of the other two and he's boring and generic which unfortunately may mean Blizz goes with him in the end.
This is the Warcraft I've been waiting for all these years.
Wrathion is a little prick and he should take two steps back after is hillarious descissions from MoP - WoD which leads to the invasion from the Legion and unimaginable suffering. Meanwhile Sabellian was calm, wise and leads his fellow dragons with an keen eye through the times.I really would prefer to see HIM leads the new black dragonflight, and not the selfcentered smirky kid Wrathion.
This is hilarious but I think they should just Co-rule, they both have leader qualities however Wrathion is literally a kid and shouldn't take on even more responsibility.
And please don't have Ebyssian "I want nothing to do with my flight or helping the world" and "I fall to Void whispers the moment they come near me" become the black Aspect.
I predict Wrathion will spend time with Sabellian and "learn" from him about how to be a good leader. Then Sabellian will be just about to take leadership when either he is assassinated -or- he will sacrifice himself for Wrathion to "show what a good leader is willing to do for his people."
It'll be wrathion but he's gonna have a character arc of growth first before taking the position.
Nice i need a visage human male form like Sabellian, it's just to badass
Maybe this will result in a Sylvanas-like quest, where the player chooses to side with one or another and the dialogue changes depending on that choice.
I love how Sabellian just somehow has uncorrupted black dragons and eggs and has done it off screen and doesn't explain it in the slightest.Love that it just totally undercuts the entire story of the Black Dragonflight since its inception as a story and Wrathion's origins and how difficult it is to cleanse a dragon of the Old God corruption.Naw Sabellian just did it offscreen.Ridiculous writing as usual from current WoW.The only way Sabellian even has ANY remote chance to be seen as worthy of being the new Aspect is because of something he did offscreen that we never heard about until now and without any explanation.Love that.Btw glad they just ignored that even though he was far from the Old Gods whispers, they explicitly told us in the past that does not mean they were unaffected in Outland. The Black Dragons were already corrupted by the time Deathwing and some of his flight went to Outland lol.
Interesting. As much as I like Wrathion, so far he is completely losing to Sabellian who looks much better than expected. You would expect Wrathion to at least have some growth by now, but alas. Though I'm still not sure that Sabellian won't betray in the end, he can easily be corrupted even now with how the Void forces work.Imagine if we could have Abyssian as the leader though, he's literally an old school noble and honorable black dragon with 10 000 years of helping the tauren with leadership and governance, but he is also not a suspicious edgelord. Too bad he wouldn't want that for himself
Wait, even if he was in Outland all this time... How Sabellian became "decorrupted" suddenly ?
Sabellian > Wrathion
So Blizzard told us that Rhea sacrifice was for naught since black dragonflight is fine, there is whole wing of uncorrupted black dragons with lot of eggs. And somehow Deathwing was fine with it.
