I hate how hard blizzard is trying to remove culpability from sylvanas
I believe people are missing a key element when it comes to Sylvanas, and why she allied herself with The Jailer, to begin with. While it is now easily seen that The Jailer desires to end all life, thus feeding him all those new souls, ever-increasing his power and control, I do not believe that Sylvanas's goal is to exterminate "death."Sylvanas tries to get across that it is not just the cycle of life, nor the cycle of death, that she wishes to see destroyed, but the entire system itself upon both cycles were created. She believes that through dismantlement, a new, in her eyes Just, system can be created to replace that which is first destroyed. To make the creation possible, however, the current system, in its entirety, must be torn down.I believe that Sylvanas did all the heinous acts she accomplished, with the Jailer's direct order and/or guidance. When you watch the various clips, even from past expansions when she slaughters most all of her own troops, there is an ever-present twinge, indicating her "true" feelings on the actions, while still going through with them as the only known steps to reach her goal of everyone's "freedom." Additionally, if/when this newly promised system is forged, all current standards of "Right"/"Wrong"/"Good"/"Evil" will be replaced as well, effectively wiping the slate clean. With such a possibility, Sylvanas believes these ends justify any means necessary.
Andiun = The New ArbiterHe's just fooling The Jailer, he is still in full control of himself.
The pro-Sylvanas folks have blinded themselves about her true motives. It has been made abundantly clear that she believes the current system is unjust because of what was done to her by Arthas. The process of turning her into a banshee entirely removed her agency and she could never overcome that feeling of helplessness which is perfectly understandable given who she was in life: the Ranger General of Quel’Thalas. She wants to break the system because she’s utterly terrified of what she experienced when she was briefly dead for real after being assassinated at the Battle for Gilneas. In other words her motives are purely selfish and like many selfish people she’s deluded herself into believing that what she’s doing is also going to help others as a way of justifying her actions to her own conscience. Of course I say that but what I really mean is that this is the only way writers could figure out how to move her plot along and explain her actions. The bottom line with Sylvanas is that like many Forsaken she is simply not the same person who she was in life because her psyche did not emerge unscathed from that terrible ordeal. Characters like Alonsus Faol and Calia Menethil are the exceptions (because of circumstances and their close connection to the Light), Sylvanas is the norm. Let’s not forget that the only reason the Forsaken are even a thing was to allow players who enjoyed playing as the Undead faction in Warcraft III to have that experience in WoW as well. That’s why their faction has always been the weakest link in the lore and why characters like Sylvanas are so controversial. We can argue lore all we like but we shouldn’t lose track of the reality of the situation and why certain things are the way they are.
Bruh Azshara said she was going to the true seat of power or something when she just peaced out in Ny'alotha. Are we really going to get Azshara vs. the Jailor?
How does that make sense? Her whole focus has been on ending the current cycle. A new arbiter, (her or another) is not changing anything cycle-related. Her disdain for the cycle has nothign to do with shipping souls to the wrong covenants.....but about choice. So, she's going to be the new arbiter that lets souls pick their destination or something? LOL? That seems not very likely.
Sylvanas is the last person who should decide what fate awaits others after death. Btw, once again she would become the thing she hated, lol - she became an even worse Lich King, and now she'd end up as an arbiter? Yikes.
