For some reason the most of comments about crying of portal removal gets me quite angry. WoW have lot of issues, more important to address. But no, completely insignificant thing and people goes all over the place. You have all the items and toys for portaling around the place, 3 heartstones, and some npc's that will gladly teleport you. While new players might not know about some of items, the most annoying is people who claim that playing since vanilla and now the portal thing is an issue, while they should have half bag filled of teleport items, if they would actually care.
I'm just glad that I am both a druid and a goblin engineer. One of my primary reasons for choosing engineering was to get around before half these portals even existed. Not to mention I farmed up a lot of the weird teleporter items a long time ago, like rings and such. Although some of the portal removals don't make sense like Hellfire and Pandaria. Oh well such is life.

Removed people cant fly from stormwind to karazhan? what has this game become...
Find a friend with Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian! OK! XD
Telling people to use the Twilight Highlands portal is just making them take even longer (only about 30 secs but it is still a worse option) to get to the Dalaran crater area. The Flightpaths for alliance in Twilight Highlands are terrible with connections outside that zone meaning you end up doubling back and taking longer than going to Ironforge on the tram and flying to Chillwind camp from there. Also, These portals have level requirements that the old portals didn't. Sod you if you're a pre-Cata level wanting to get to the crater for winterveil or love is in the air or hallow's eve (you know, the events that are for all levels)
I think my mage will be my new main starting next week
All the things wrong with the game and they decide to nerf portals what a joke, great guide though going to have to get some of those engineering goodies and clickies if I can. Been gone for so long didn't even know about most of them.
You forgot that if you have engeneering you can get portals yourself to northrend pandaria argus etc.
You forgot the Ever-Shifting Mirror toy to get to Outland.
For horde to southern EK, particularly Zul'gurub, remember there is a zeppelin to Grom'gol in Northern Stranglethorn. This is of course more finicky than a portal because you have to wait for the zeppelin first.
I’m surprised the article didn’t point out all the locations a Dark Iron Dwarf can get too. Getting all the mole machine locations is fun too (like 13?). Mole Machine + engineering makes travelling very easy—-plus Dark Iron Dwarves are sexy...
