Being the fan of achievements that I am, and also having waited the entire expansion to think about this one, I'm curious about the removal of the Airborne Tumbling ability. Was there not an achievement for knocking off 50-100 players using the surge? How is that going to be effected? Just now a FoS?
In my opinion, the easiest way for this to work would be to have Aerial Halt turn skyriding off and Surge Forward (and maybe Skyward Ascent) turn it back on.
Thanks for the article! Why do most of the sentences in the body copy end with an exclamation point? I get that we're all excited about all the new stuff coming out, but why are you screaming at me about it all the time?
Removing Airborne Recovery is a huge mistake. I loved the idea of slowing right before landing to instantly gain 1 vigor, it's a shame really. But the fantasy of slowing down to a stop before "perching" on the side of a mountain was the best
Personally woulda preferred a method to apply dragonriding/normal flight rules to individual mounts rather than have it be a toggle for ALL mounts only. Was nice being able to just choose a different mount if I wanted to go slow and steady. Nitpicky yeah, but it was nice. Don't really see why they have a cast time for the toggle tbh, but I imagine that'll change one day far in the future.
Seriously Blizzard. You give us the ability to change all mounts from skyriding to regular. But there is a 5 or 10 second switch time, and we need to trigger that to happen? Idiocy.Do you think it could have made far simpler? Allow specific mounts to be designated as skyriding. (Effectively, exactly what we had before, but before, only certain mounts were permanently designated as skyriding.)This would allow me if I want one or the other option, I can just put two mounts on my action bar, as I did before. There were many times when I wanted a normal flying mount. For example, you need to hover above some spot to find something, but you are willing to give up the speed you get from skyriding. Or, I need to land in a very specific spot. This may happen when I am mining a node, or picking a herb, and skyriding is just a pain in the neck. Sometimes, I might land my dragon mount off the mark, but the mining node I need to mine is on top of a rock. So I take off on the sly riding mount, fly up in the air, but then again, I need to land in a very accurate spot to mine the stupid node. Trivial to accomplish on a regular flying mount.I can give many other examples. Do you remember all of those high peaks we had to land on? Some of them required pinpoint landings to not fall off, performed while you were moving at high speed. But that spot is trivial to hit with a regular flying mount. In fact, I use a regular mount probably more often than I do a skyriding mount. If I want to cover a lot of ground however, then I seriously do NOT want to spend the 10 seconds it will take me to swap to skyriding, on ALL mounts! And then I'll need to swap back. Much of the real value of a skyriding mount is the ability to get somewhere FAST.I'm sorry, but this was just an idiotic design choice on the part of Blizzard.
How do you turn this crap off in a macro? I'd like to be able to have both flying options available at any time and druid flight form being skyriding is thematically dumb af.
Wait, why was the Otterworldly Ottuk removed from the List? I remember one of the first lists had it listed. Massively disappointed.
Turbo Charged Flying Machine lost its propeller :(
I guess I don't understand Skyriding vs Steady Flight. I would have assumed that Steady Flight would allow Dragon-type mounts to still use Dragon-riding and regular flying mounts would use Steady Flight like it was before the patch OR with the patch, you could toggle Skyriding for mounts individually not en masse. In the patch, choosing Skyriding lets the dragon mounts fly but the regular flying mounts are grounded and toggling between them is a hassle. Hopefully, I missed something.
I just logged into Retail after quite some time. And i was confused about why i cant fly anymore. And now i read that i have to be max Lv to be able to fly again? I did not buy TWW but it is stupid that i am not allowed anymore to fly in Outlands or Pandaria or whatever older Area.
Flight form having Skyriding is not something to rejoice.
