issue being you need a group that is not braindead. Almost always someone that fails at bigger skips and a failed skip tend to just be bigger mess than not skipping.
This article might have actually been useful if you then went further on to say what trash is better to kill to make up the count, with reasons why/why not to do it. I've never seen this skip used in m+ and I don't think it should be titled as an "m+ skip".
kekw, even BETA
This skip is used in M+ if you want to use the bomb guys for easy clear after the first boss. Starter trash is not faster if you just nuke the others with the bombs. However, it's not a common pug thing indeed.
The potential for skips is built into the dungeon. It's just bads that don't learn the nuance of the dungeon and play it "optimally". I've leveled 4 tanks for fun (content drought) and I can say that 80% know this skip. It's very helpful and lets the tank know if you have a group of n00bs or a group that learns the game and attempts to play well. If it's a good group you can do the dungeon in 1/2 the time. If it's a group that refuses to learn the class/dungeon than it's a slog to the end.
I hate skips
