Oh, so the Orc is going to offer an apology to those he wronged? Its a start, now they only have to apologize for their genocidal aggression and theft of human lands during the first war, burning Stormwind to the ground, Theramore, all the aggression into Night Elf lands including the burning of Teldrassil, intrusion into traditional Dwarven lands like Alterac, enslaving Pandaren children, propping up two genocidal dictators, the murder of countless innocent Draenei, and generally being unrepentant warmongers for the better part of about 40 years of lore.
orc A: "i feel so bad for contributing to the r0pe and torture of alexstrasza and the torture of her kids...."orc B: "don't worry you've really done your time and repented for it"orc A: "yeah you right. <dies>"child of the victim: "oh no, i can see you are sad because he died. this person is good after all. my mother's abuser may not believe he deserves my kindness but he does indeed.. i'm glad he gets to die peacefully in his sleep with a child curled up on his lap, just like the ones he used to torture without having to answer for his crimes at all"shut the #$%^ up... who writes this #$%^? let's not make a quest about alexstrasza trying to deal with her trauma or anything. let's make a quest about some orc who contributed to it, getting excused by the victim's child and by another orc, then dying peacefully, and getting the dragon to infuse a gem with the abuser's soul to make the abuser's friend feel better. it all works out and makes sense 100% justice served to your empowered female characters, blizzard. i feel deeply supported and seen
Why the hell should the Amani apologize to the Blood Elves? Why is the dude who is clearly troubled by his own actions, and doesn't actually want to be forgiven for his actions being treated like he's some &*!@er demanding forgiveness? They don't even forgive him, just allow him his dignity. Also the narrative that slaughter is proper is...%^&*ed. Some of y'all need to learn what nuance is, and others need to shut the @#$% up. "Atrocities were in vain." They never should have happened in the first place, go blow it out your ass.
$%^& me the edgelords in this comments section with their inability to grasp why terrible people can change their nature and become better than they were without the need for harsh punitive justice at every single turn. The Old Orc did terrible things yes but fought against tyrants and monsters who have or would have done far worse, if he's earned literally nothing else it is the right to die in peace with his dignity and honor returned.
Here I am wiping tears out of my eyes, and then made the mistake of reading the comments.Guess we can't have character development or anything anymore.
I'm kinda concerned about some of the posts here. You guys seem extremely violent and spiteful. Acting like there can be no healing, character growth or forgiveness in WoW. That everything has to be met with blood and punishment. That always must answer war with death and more war to be an "interesting" story. How do you function as human beings? This is a very sweet little story! Reconciling with the past is how you grow as a person. Only the stubborn and immature stay as they used to be, life and time is about change and growth. For everyone, heroes and villains. Even the factions. They had their history, there's been enough dark years already, but they're learning to move past that now. If you can't understand that message then try looking internally and reconsidering yourself before judging Duroz.
I do not like all the Horde whitewashing that's been going on since the end of MoP or so. Surely I'm not the only one who rolled Horde back in 2004 to punt Gnomes, cannibalize dead foes, and be a relentless bastard? Could my faction embrace being violent, scheming, evil and conquering again, please? Pretty please?
This is probably one of the most compelling stories I've seen in alpha so far. Kudos devs--not everything has to be uber edgy/over the top.
