It makes sense for the game being rewarding to the players based on the amount of effort they put in. The ones with more time or patience will progress through the game faster than the ones playing it in a casual way. Keep in mind that eventually you will catch up UNLESS it is pure RNG. No matter what they do can make it any good eventually it is being RNG base. Fix that first then see if the requirements are harsh or okey.I hear and relate to the comments of folks saying that doing all the requirements is not mandatory but optional since you will get 1 loot regardless or that doing 15 dgs or clearing a raid within a week is not that much of a time spent per day.BUT I feel like most of you guys are missing out on a few crucial points here while defending that. 1) IF the pve or pvp meta will drastically be dependant on the spesific stats or items as it is now in BFA where a 5% gear/corruption difference will determine your success then you are being kind of forced to complete all the requirements in order to have every possible options of gear so that you can try to COMPETE. I dont think any of us or most of us just want to go and do nothing competative but still have ultra fun..... 2) For an average person with moderate life like having a job or family and can only spend a few hours in the game but with a good set of skills/potential to compete at high end levels this RNG and limitations/requirements can be really dramatic.3) And the very very important thing is covenants, soulbinds, legendaries and conduits. Even if it is not fully revealed how hard the swaps will be between these, I am 100% sure that it wont be as easy as you change your talents. These aspects or elements are the fundamentals of this expansion where pretty much your game play will be shaped around. And M+ / Raid / PvP always seem to have different metas. So can we say that even if we want or can achieve all the requirements in a week we will be able to do them with one covenant/soulbind/conduit set up? Sounds too naive.. I think it wouldnt be too crazy to say all three types of those contents will progress better with different covenants conduits etc. So the things we should adress be more like removal of the RNG, if not: almost free cost of covenant/conduit swaps.. Because if these kind of systems are not going to be user friendly then we will be limited and forced to pursuit the meta and get declined by the groups lfp with the best possible set up
I like this option - 15 mythics for a 3rd option does seem a bit much, considering you only need 10 bosses in a raid for the 3rd option on that tier. Other than that, I really like this it sucks to only have 1 random choice (which I haven't been able to use the last 3 weeks) - at least I'll be able to choose what I'd like, and I really like that if none of the gear is useful/appealing, I can choose a currency. This is IMO, definitely a good thing. 🤓👍
The box should be tuned to the gear from the highest boss you kill, the highest key you do (also do a M+, +7or8, +15) and your highest rating (which the PVP is already set at) the number of bosses and PVP conquest should remain the same this allows for decent gear choices without forcing a bunch of time on to one character. This way the alt players can get more characters played every week. This mythic also hurts people who play with friends and guild helping gear alts as it draws down gearing runs and makes them less likely to happen.
For people saying they are being de-incentivized to run with your friends b/c you don't want to effect your 15M+ run pool... it's a moot point! You HAVE to run 15, M+ 15s, anyways to even get the reward for that final choice. So no matter what, you WILL be running 15 Mythic Plus dungeons at 15 at some point in time in the week to get that extra choice reward. Helping out friends in lower level keys doesn't effect you in any way at all, it doesn't lower your average, it doesn't do anything other than you yourself making the choice to help them out. If you only have time to run 15 dungeons a week, yes... I can see how that could effect your choice there, but lets be honest here; If you are running 15M+ dungeons at +15... an extra +5 run +11 +whatever run for 20 some odd minutes... isn't going to effect you in the slightest time wise.More choices and options for the chest is a HUGE plus for everyone. It still rewards players that have limited time the same way it does now and, even better, it rewards the players that take the time and put in the effort to be the best they can. It's win win win no matter how you slice it. People are complaining about this as if they went to a super market to buy one apple and, lo and behold, there is ONE apple on a pedestal you can buy. BUT WAIT they just opened a new section yesterday that allows you to look at MULTIPLE apples and, IF YOU TAKE THE TIME, you can look through them all and find the right one for you! OMG OPTIONS! FOR TIME? Novel idea I know....I'm looking forward to SL :) Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. P.S. Fix Shadow priest.
"But, the way I read this is if you do one M10, it doesn't benefit you to do anything lower because you could lower the item level of your choices. So no more helping out people with low keys?"Why do you read it like this. I naivly think it will work like this: 1 (10) + 4 (5) key run -> 1 key chest will be mythic 10 item; 5 key chest will be mythic 5 item.1 (10) + 80 (0) + 14 (15) key run -> 1 key chest will be mythic 15 item; 5 key chest will be mythic 15 item too; 15 key chest will be mythic 10 item.So as I read it it will not lower the ilvl of your choice unless you didn't finished the amount of keys you needed to unlock it, and in that case it doesn't even matter.
Be grateful you have a choice now at all. Your opinion on this is literally showing your overblown self entitlement.
I really like how, we can get a reward from 1 and also doing 15 mythic dungeons, I like that.
Implement now? No reason to wait on this change.
Blizzard implements weekly variety of "choices" because they're afraid of being sued due to gambling regulations similar to other companies in different regions like the EU and Australia in recent time. Change my mind.Jokes(?) aside. I think it makes sense to incentivize the content but it can also be argued that there should've been choices in the first place without additional conditions considering BfA which has proven to be a mentally straining and unnecessary experience.Though the unlocking goals could slightly be adjusted if it proves to be impossible to get an actual rewarding and not too straining experience out of it. Considering the 3 choices doesn't mean receiving all 3 rewards, merely picking one out of those 3.Theortically they look doable though. 1-2hrs m+ per day and you'd unlock 3 slots. Raids will definitely be harder to unlock for most players in the first few weeks. PvP looks reasonable.
First of all, even though I like the idea of more effort - more choices personally, when Ion went on about this, most people envisioned a version similar to what we have today with less RNG, so I can understand some people see this as a hit in the nuts.Secondly,M+ is for a lot of players on of the main reasons to stick around and Ion can't seem to stop going on about how he wants to return to meaningful choices etc.If the brand new expansion with it's redesigned reward system is going to be offering choices like this:"Of course if you ran only Fourteen +15s for the week and one +3, then the last option would be a +3 because the lowest key of the top 15 keys you ran was indeed a 2".That is pretty ridiculous. Since such a situation can hardly be called a choice at all, even though the +3 loot in this case is technically "more reward" if you'd stop at 14. I think we can all expect something better than this for a new expansion.Thirdly,Even though it reads like this, it will never go live like this. I would imagine they realize a choice like that makes no sense, and it will probably be a scaling factor taken out of a few of your top runs instead. e.g. after 10 runs it takes the loot from the lowest of your top 2-3 runs, and after 15 runs the lowest of your top 4-5 runs or something.
