My guess is they held off the AFK fix for warfronts until the switch back to horde to avoid a slew of "unfair horde bias" if they fixed it during alliance's first run :)
This is reuired change, but it should be applied to island expeditions as well.
I believe they should implement this automatic AFK exit for LFR and BG's as well; it would be greatly appreciated by the active player base in those instances.
You can basically still go AFK and not get kicked. ... If you press the button that makes you run automatically you will not be AFK even if you leave.... but don't be an idiot. Don't do that. LoL
"Players who are Away From Keyboard will now be automatically removed from the Warfront."THANK YOU!
I completely agree with removing the afk people from warfronts, bgs, dungeons, hell the whole game. My question is how does the game determing an that someone is afk? Is there a reporting system, if so it will be abused. Is there just the normal time out, if so people will bot it. Is there some other system, if so it will be abused. I have seen people who were top damage in battlegrounds get mass reported afk by griefers and have to to hurry to get into combat so the debuff stops.
That's not gonna change anything honestly
How about it you leave the warfront map (you aren't visible on the world map portion of the warfront), an unattackable skull level ghost chases you down and one shots you. Every time it kills you, you take 10% durability (applies to EVERYTHING you have that can take durability including items in the bank and void storage) AND lose 10% of your gold (which applies account wide!). That would deal with those leaving the map. Then with those that go AFK and don't contribute, perhaps Blizzard should have a skull level NPC that tracks your progress and if you fail to contribute regularly (damage, healing, or even just resources), it one shots you with the same penalties as above. That'd force at least some kind of participation. In either case, if you get 1 shot by the NPC at any point during the warfront, you get no reward at the end, and if you were doing the quest to win a warfront, your 370 reward is removed and replaced with a level 1 white item that vendors for like 1c. If you repeatedly get killed by the NPC, eventually you'll have no gold or gear. Maybe also have a penalty where it reduces your iLvL by 5-10 every time you get killed. It's a stacking debuff and isn't removed by time or death. On top of that, the highest iLvL of gear you can get is equal to the iLvL you have with the debuff. No warforging/titanforging. Only way to remove it would be to make a ticket and plead your case to a GM on why you were AFK and why you should have your iLvL restored.Blizzard shouldn't be enabling AFKers. Just kicking those that allow themselves to go AFK doesn't do anything but promote people hitting the spacebar every minute or two or running in one spot. This fixes nothing.
Booting AFKers is a step in the right direction, but I think it needs to go a bit further. They can quite simply alt tab out and surf the internet, coming back before the 5 minutes are up to move their toon. I'd like to see a requirement like collect either 100 wood or 100 iron and turning it in. Also, actually have a point tracker for kills and/or capturing points. You tag a mob and he dies regardless of who dealt the killing blow, you get 1 point. You were in the vicinity of a point being captured, maybe give 5 points. Have a minimum, something like a 100 points wouldn't be too hard, required to get loot. It shows you participated. I tried vote kicking a few people this weekend, but nothing ever happened. They were just hanging out in the back of the base doing nothing.
Guess we have to push the spacebar every 4.5 minutes instead now to get our free loot for alts.
But what if I queue for instanced group content and the second I click accept suddenly something arbitrary comes up and I have to alt-tab for ten minutes like those infrequent takes who insta-queue for a dungeon and say brb as soon as the instance loads?
