After testing around with lots of pet summons, a special one caught my eyes. The
Sea Totem. (Also similar types such as
Storm Totem, but those are harder to obtain)
This summons a guardian that defends you for 1 minute, however after prepatch, it deals insane amount of damage as a mastery stacked Unholy DK (3-6k) each melee hit. The item itself only has a 10 second cooldown. Which means you can have up to 6 elementals at the same time!
Do keep in mind that it is a consumable, and it takes time to farm them. On a good grind, it took me about 30 minutes to obtain 6 of them. Which grants me about 30 seconds of being able to one shot people. Or atleast having pets doing so.
To really maximize the potential of these summons, we are going to use the DK talent
Death's Reach, which makes your
Death Grip reset its cooldown everytime an enemy you fight dies...
Leading to you being able to grip kill people without stop for a short period!
You might wonder why the pet is so unbelievably strong in the prepatch.
The main reason after testing around with it, is that it didn't truely get downscaled with the squish. It might appear as a level 50, but the health shown is not the actual health of the creature.
A
Greater Pyroblast does 31k damage on it... Doesn't seem to equal 35% out of 11k HP.
Its aggro range is also really long, and during the first day of prepatch, my friends had issues hitting it (everything kept missing)
If you take a look at the
wowhead database, you can see that the item summons a Sea Elemental with the value of "120"
I believe this is the level, which it is still set as (even if not shown)
Hope you all enjoyed this discovery! And stay tuned for more
