Early one morning I went out in search of Iron and Mithril nodes in order to catch up with mining, for at Level 50 I had fallen completely behind. Knowing that Badlands was a good spot, I went out and began farming. As I combed through the Ravine with the whelplings for nodes, I ran up to a lone Mithril node but was immediately attacked by a nearby whelpling that had come too close. I turned and killed the poor whelpling, then returned to my node and finished mining it. Turning to leave, I remembered the whelpling and doubled back to the corpse to loot it, only to be greeted with:You have looted .I couldn't believe that I had almost missed that! I brought it out and continued to mine. Once I was satisfied that I had enough, I left Badlands to smelt the ore and continued to raise my Engineering. Deciding to go back to level, I went back into Felwood to continue questing and as I rode past Bloodvenom River I was jumped by a tainted ooze. I killed it, and looted an Oozing Bag. Opening the bag, I see:You have looted .To say the least, I went out and bought a lottery ticket that very day. Although I didn't win anything with the ticket (darn) whenever I open my pet window and see the two pets I recall that lucky day, and wonder whether or not I'll ever have an epic streak like that again.
Probably the most epic thing that ever dropped for me was not actually an item per se, it was a quest item: Kael's Vial Remnant.A little background: Around one month after I found an SSC/TK raiding guild, the Sunwell patch came out and everyone stopped running T5 raids. I figured I had lost my chance at ever killing Vashj or Kael'thas. Fast forward to the final patch before WOTLK came out: Everyone is scrambling to finish BC achievements which are important to them, while others are flamed for going back to the Kael'thas and Vashj fights. My guild was obsessed with Sunwell at the time, and wasn't inviting me to their raids. I was pretty @#$%ed off at this point. I just wanted to get that darn Hand of Adal title. So I found my own groups to kill Kael with. I was lucky and got a spot with a guild group doing Kael because of my friend Dreamlock. We ran the fight twice (I warlock tanked!), wiped, and on our 3rd attempt we owned the crap out of Kael. That was the most rewarding experience in this game I ever had. I tanked, I did a great job at it, and helped to kill the boss I had wanted to kill for at a least a year! Besides Kael, I actually PUGed Vashj. I had never really done the fight before, helped lead a raid group to actually killing her, and when I received that item, the quest completed, I went and turned it in, and finally got my achievment and title.Receiving that quest item was more rewarding than any piece of gear I ever got because it was the boss fight that was so extremely rewarding.
The fattest epic loot I've ever gotten a chance to get would have to be the ruby slippers from Kara! Woo! Nothing is more terrifying then a warlock in high heels coming to destroy your village.
The old hunter epic quest. I stayed up for two days straight practicing strats, changing specs, battling demons, and having the most fun I've ever had in a video game. Lok'Delar and Rhok'Delar were pretty epic, too. But I'd have to say that the Ancient Petrified Leaf that started the quest chain was my most epic loot yet.
my most epic day was pre-bc, running 40 man molten core and i managed to get the gauntlets for my pally. I hadn't run many instances at that time and not any 40 man ones so was kind of a big thrill for me.
Okay, so my most EPIC lewtz actually dropped in a low level instance...The Deadmines.Come on. Who doesn't want a Siamese Cat?
