I would have to say http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=40428 i just got it last night. and it looks epic on my dk.
This was right before The expansion came out. Probably 1-2 raid lockout times before 3.0 Hit. Our guild decided to run a Naxx40 for some of the BCbabies. I came along on my priest the 2 days we did it. The first day we 7 or 8 manned Patchwerk. Which was pretty epic to start out with. It was on par with todays Patchwerk. The T3 Priest Shoulder Token Dropped and I lost a roll by just a few points. Determined to get my T3 shoulders i Persuaded them to take on Grobbulous, and after Roflstomping him a Splinter of Atiesh Dropped and another Priest T3 Shoulder token Dropped. Amazed to see a Legendary drop i almost forgot to roll on either of them. Being the only other person in our raid that wanted the T3 piece i was defaulted the Token, and won the roll for one of the 2 legendaries i have ever seen.As icing on the frosting. Our guild rogue was blessed with the Warglaive MH the week or week after i got my splinter.
I just NEEDED a Captured Firefly on my rogue before the expansion hit. Spent a good while in Zangarmarsh farming, and finally it dropped...Of course, being a rogue... Having a little pet following you around is sort of a liability, hasn't seen much use... Seems all my epic stories have had down endings... But I guess that's what life is, a series of down endings...
I would have to say the most epic drop i got was on my pally when i got both of the 1hand swords in ZF in a single run and walked out with the awesome epic 2hander when i combined them. i still have that sword in my bank on my pally just because it looks so sick.
For me it was the Reins of the Azure Netherwing Drake. Yeah, it's not a drop, but when I think back to the amount of effort involved... first in getting the 5,000 Gold to train Artisan Riding, and then the many, many days of grinding those God-awful quests.... and at the time I wasn't raiding or running Heroics or even regular level 70 instances, so my gear was mostly greens and quest rewards. It was certainly a testament to my determination that despite numerous deaths and set backs (I never did defeat Captain Skyshatter), I never gave up.
Heroic Vault of Archavon24 players in the raidOur dps wasn't good enough to down archavon before he enraged and our tanks diedI used my divine protection, everyone else died, 30k health left on archavon5k health left when my bubble ran out, gave one last hammer of wrath crit for 6kBoth archavon and I died at the same time, epic winDeadly gladiator ret paladin legs droppedReceived the legs for owning the boss woot.
I've had a most epic battle recently, but it wasn't done on a high-level character. My troll rogue, Yaranamos, was on a quest to obtain the head of the mighty Kolkar, Hezrul Bloodmark. I was slowly stalking him and his two cronies, I had to plot his demise smartly in order to succeed, he was a bit stronger than I. So, I snuck up slowly behind one of his fellows *SAP* and he stand there helpless as I wait for Hezrul and the other to walk away, I then make quick work of him then run for my life. Once i'm in the clear I make my way back towards the lake area and stalk his second follower and I, of course, make quick work of him. NOW, I have Hezrul walking around the lake all alone, with no protection but his weapon. Now I slowly sneak up behind him, I must execute this attack with great carefulness. I seclude him in a location with no other kolkar and *SAP* he is immobile for the time being; I now make my first strike *BACKSTAB* and he takes a reasonable amount of damage now I hit him with a couple of my most sinister strikes then *GOUGE* to give myself a bit of breathing room. After one more sinister strike then I go in for the kill *EVISCERATE*, but it's not enough to kill him! He has a bit of health left and he is slashing my life away, I build up a couple of combos on him and start to slice and dice. This battle was getting dangerously close, I have been stalking him for days and I don't want to lose! Finally we are both at our last bit of health and we go in for the kill against eachother........ I am dead..... but.... the job... is.. done!
The most Epic Loot that ever dropped for me was when I was in ZA. I was luck enough to get invited to join a Bear Run group even though I was in one of the crappyest guild on the server. So we all get there and then start the run. This was my first time ever doing a Bear Run on my Main, a lvl 70 Shadow Priest at the time, so i had to get the hang of it while we were doing it. When we got to the first boss, Akil'zon, we downed him pretty fast (obviously) and he dropped Brooch of Nature's Mercy. So the loot went like if you need it, need it so we can hurry up and get going. So i pressed need thinking well I'm a priest so i need healing gear. I won it. Then we went onto the next boss, Nalorakk. We almost wiped on that, but, thankfully for potions, we didn't. Then i looked at the loot. He dropped Robes of Heavenly Purpose. So I hit need think of Healing set but probably figuring I wouldn't get lucky again. I got those too.I was so happy. The we moved on to the third and fourth boss with no good drops for me, but I was thinking that it was more than enough for me. The Bear dropped and I also didn't get it (sadly), but they thought well we're here so we might as well finish the place. So we get to Hex Lord Malacrass wiped and had to do it again. The second time we were more successful. Then I looked at what he dropped. I was like "Thank You GOD!" He had dropped the Hood of Hexing which was like the secound best head for me at the time. I hit Need. And i won it. So in one day just by sheer luck I won 3 epics for myself. =]
