I would have to say the most epic drop I got was in old WoW. My guild and I were in Molten Core and I was praying for my my Prophecy set. All the priest in my guild already had it so tonight was my night if any of the set drops. The reason behind all the priest having it was I was always passing it up to the other guild members because I was being nice. Well luck would be told I got fourpieces of my set that night. You should have heard me on vent afterwords. I was jumping up and down going OMG how did I just win 4 pieces of loot. I also won a few other items that night but those 4 were the ones I really wanted. This was back when my guild was still running strong. I miss you all. Here are the four pieces I wonPants of prophecyBoots of ProphecyMantle of ProphecyRobes of ProphecyI would link them but I tried the link button from wowhead and it wasn't working then I tried to send the links and that wasn't working.Well winning these four items in one night has to be the most epic loot I have won..
Most epic loot would be back in the day in vanilla wow when farming UBRS as a 15 man raid doing rend runs over and over trying to get the carapace for the breastplate of chromatic flight. Finally after countless runs both the chromatic carapace and felstriker to drop at the same time. I was a happy warrior, and my friend was a happy rogue.
Back when I played my paladin. I wanted to learn how to tank. I asked in trade all people could do was say "Use this, use that." And on and on and talked about gear. But how could I learn skills from just listening? Eventually a level 70 paladin invited me to a group. He asked if I was ready do die a lot. I said no. He told me well, I'm going to anyway.So...he logged off and whispered me from a level 70 rogue and invited me. He told me to meet him at the gate to Shattered Halls. So I did. Taking my slow flyer out of Thrallmar. :[. He unlocked the instance door for me and we entered. As soon as I entered he pulled a few mobs and vanished. I died. He told me I need to have a quick reaction. Try again. Ran back, and he did the same thing as soon as I entered half mana half health. I died yet again. He than told me to make use of my abilities. Experiment. He told me first use my Lay on Hands when I was low. I did, I survived longer than before. Yet I died yet again. Came back, he had me wait (as he needed to get his kid something) and came back when I was at full health and mana. He told me my talent spec needed Blessing of Kings. I made a mental note to respec and add that to it.Yet again he pulled a few mobs and vanished. So of course, I was under attack. I died again. This went on for a while. I had to repair four times. Took a while and he slowly told me to add a certain ability to the mix.I learned to be a tankadin on my paladin. This was truely, my most epic moment.Also...I never successfully solo'd the first few mobs in Shattered Halls. :[. But I did learn to survive for 45 seconds. He told me that was the key. Survival without depending on a healer.A few days later he came back with a healer, which had A LOT better gear than my paladin. I had to stop his healer from getting aggro.
back at 60 i had quit the game for a while because of some real life issues, when i had come back to the game it was about 2 months before the release of TBC, i made it my mission to get my epic flyer for my shaman i was going to create the day i hit 70. So what i did was for a month and a half i was at tyr's hand all day farming gold and was able to accumulate over 6,000 gold on a blue/green geared rogue[ with a krol's blade. The amount of gold farmers i had to fight off every day was uncountable so this has to be my most epic achievement i have ever done while playing WoW
My epic fishing set! Deckhands shirt, blue overalls, weather-beaten hat, extreme anglin' boots, azure silk belt, and my arcanite fishing pole from the stranglethorn fishing extravaganza!
I'd have to say the purple BS plans I got from a lock box that helped me finally get my epic ground mount, what a day.
The most epic loot drop I've gotten that was purely a shock was a first mate hat. I was leveling my alt paladin in STV, and just started some quests. I killed two pirates and it dropped, mind you in the past I had farmed for this hat for two weeks on my warlock and never got it. The thing is I didn't want the hat for myself. I wanted it for my boyfriend b/c it was one of those items he'd always wanted but thought was impossible to attain. Now I had the hat, and I was excited, but there was a huge problem. This alt was on another server, so it ended up being 8 months later when my guild transferred to Mal'Ganis before I was able to give him the hat. He still has it in his inventory to this day.
My favorite item, still in the bank after nearly 20 levels, is the Underworld Helm from Hellfire Peninsula. It's a goofy mining cap with a front light and just all around funny. At one point I had a "joke" item set to run around with that consisted of that helm, Old Crafty and the purple valentine's day dress. As a male Tauren.
