I would have to say the most epic drop I have ever gotten would be the http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=13335 before they inscreased the drop rate to 1/100. I had been farming this instance for about 4 months and had done upwards of 400 runs and on my last run of the day I killed him and while talking to a guildie about joining the ongoing Serpentsrhine raid I almost hearthed without looting the body, but I remembered and ran over to him and low and behold there it was! :) I was so stoked that I forgot all about the SSC raid and just rode the thing around IF and SW for about an hour or so. :)
It would have to be the cloth pants off of archie on my balance druid. I had been with the guild i raided it with for quite some time, and i was basically a nobody. Some people here and there new me from like, pugging karas and stuff but, for all intents and purposes, noone expected anything from me. I had just finished up 3 piece t5 for my druid by pugging Tk/ssc, (one shot vashj, 2 shot kael, post 3.0). Anyway, we started into MH, clearing trash. I wasn't really anything spectacular, i just mainly starfalled from the back and hurricaned the aoe packs; wasn't typhooning so that the tanks wouldn't have the mobs go behind them :O. This is basically how i did with the trash, though i did do some sick decursing later on. Returning to the story, the trash got cleared and, after rogues distracted him a couple times, we engaged rage. I waited for the tank to hit the boss, then applied my debuffs, moonfire, IS, imp faerie. After 2 sunders, i opened up. Smashing my one key, i sent a flurry of green lightning bolts bossward. I saw 2 come out in abnormal succession (since the .5 second cast reduce on crit procs right when the spell is cast rather than when it hits the mob), so i started starfireing. As i had hoped, the crit triggered eclipse, and i was trashing with starfire. I was getting 7-8k crits, and then bloodlust popped. I had given up on refreshing faerie fire, and IS, and the glyph hadn't been changed so moonfire was just chillin on rage. I started to tunnel vision pretty bad, just watching the number and smashing my starfire key binding. I got ice tombed momentarily, and hit my trinket binding of shift space. I get out of it, reapply moonfire, and start starfiring again. at this point, eclipse has cooled down, and i get a starfire proc with it. I usually watch a timer to check the cooldown, but i had forgotten this time, so i applied IS, and started to spam wrath. This continued for a bit longer, but then the boss died. I check my DPS meter, and i was rockin 2200. I was ecstatic. The closest dps behind me was a 4 piece t6 rogue doing around 1800. (he told me later that the melee had gotten death and decayed 3 times that fight, but still :3) Anyway, my dps stayed the same for rage and then for aneth, but dropped a bit for kaz and azg (bosses i had never seen before) but i still stayed in the top 3, with the guilds top dps. They hadn't expected me to break 1k dps, but i rose above and beyond. So when we finally did get to archie and one shot him, it really felt like i earned those pants. They still remind me of what a fun run i had; even if it was dulled down with 3.0.
After a long week of work and family issues, I decided to jump on my account and have a little bit of fun and to relax. When I got onto my account it was to my dismay that someone hacked my account and swiped my gold (but was nice enough to leave me my gear). I was in a state of shock/frustration, but I was not going to let that ruin my game. It was the Hallows End event and I was going to take advantage of it with gold or without it.So some buddies and I went to kick some headless horseman butt in SM and kick his butt we did. On the fourth butt kicking the headless horseman mount dropped, I rolled as well as everyone else, but sadly I did not get it (it was a little disappointing but not the end of the world). On the fifth and final try we beat the tricky treats right out of him and low and behold the mount dropped again, I rolled and was again disappointed to see I rolled a 17, but to my astonishment I looked in the chat box and saw everyone saying "Grats Gooch", I looked and saw that I was the highest roll out of a 2 a 9 and a 4. It was a nice change of pace for my frustrating week. And to turn events around even more Blizzard was able to refund my lost gold the next day.Overall this is probably my most memorable moment of Warcraft.
So a friend of mine got me into playing WoW, then disappeared from me and the game. I was new, and had NO idea what was going on. I mean, it took me till level 25 or so to even find the AH!But I did and eventually found that I would need to use these professions I had for some kind of money to buy things! I was a paladin and figured I would be a blacksmith so I could help make my own armor. As we all know this was a joke (for leveling anyway), but I was knew and didn't know at the time!I did find the amazing profitability of the Phantom blade though. While farming for the Breath of Wind that is needed, which is the hardest part, i have Destiny (http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=647) drop for me. This was my first epic ever. When it dropped I was so excited. To this day, even after leveling a second paladin and getting my first raiding drops and getting ready to raid again in Naxx, I still haven't passed that moment of the very first epic drop of my WoW life....I doubt I ever will.
Greedily opening Wrath Of The Lich King, preoccupied with the adventures that awaited me in Northrend, I barely noticed when a very small man in a strange green suit tumbled out of the case and landed on my Cheeto-stained carpet with a *WUMP*."I am Tibbers the leprechaun," he began as he dusted off a tiny bowler hat with a tiny four-leaf clover pinned in the band, "and I'm here to grant you three-""What happened to my game disc, and the manual?" They were covered in little bite marks, each one a tiny spear through my heart."Oh, yes. I got hungry. But that's no matter, for I can grant you three wi-""Leave.""But you can have anyth-""Now."After he waddled out of my house, I discovered that seven golden coins had spilled from the leprechaun's pockets when he fell out of the box. They amounted to just enough for a replacement copy of Lich King AND a 60 day time card. It was truly the most epic drop I had ever been fortunate enough to receive.
I don't raid, so when Wrathtide Longbow dropped off of heroic Prince Kalithresh, I was pretty happy. Not to mention that both Beast Lord Leggings and Beast Lord Mantle also dropped on the same run! Too bad I already had them.
