the most "epic" thing that has every happened to me wasnt a drop but rather an auction house raping....i had been reading at work about people that cruise the auction house before the down time on tuesdays to try and find steals, i had never really given it much thought but figured what the hell ill see whats up thereat the time i was on my hunter and was looking mainly at leather working things and leather armor, i noticed that the time was running down on some stacks of borean leather, the buy out was set at a rediculous 40g (i say this bc i find it VERY hard to BUY something that i can skin myself) but the bid price was set at the default, 1 silver 50 copper O.oi started to place my bid of 1.5 silver on the first 3 that i saw, hit the arrow to flip the page and noticed that the person had put up at least 10 other auctions for stacks of leather for THE SAME PRICE, i pounded out the bids on each of them 15 mins before the servers went down, i sat in ORG watching my chat screen to make sure no one had out bid me in the final minutes before the down time.sure as $%^& when i got home that night from work there were about 15 mails in my mailbox with full stacks of borean leather waiting for me, all bought out for a bid of 1.5 silverneedless to say i spend a lot of time before the tuesday down time, sitting at the auction house scoping out deals where i can find them
I started playing about a year and a half after my boyfriend started. The moment I hit 70, still in all quest rewards, he took me through my first Kara run. Sulker's Greaves (http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=28741) dropped, and nobody else in the small raid needed them. They were my first piece of epic gear, and I didn't replace them until I bought http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=34928...but they will always hold a special slot in my bank ^_^
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
This was on my 60 mage before I started a new account and left him and his Ivory raptor behind (Please hit me so hard for doing this..), I was running Zul'Gurub and we were on Hakkar. (This run was for fun and we were all decking full t3), Well just messsing around the entire group went down, other than me at about 23% (It was around that, hard to remember) Well I effectively decided to try, and popped all my trinkets. Landed exactly (And I remember) 34 frostbolt crits in a row, combined with other attacks. I one manned him down the rest of the way, only bad thing is back in the oldin' day. If you do what I did and everyone released, whoever released got no loot. So it was about three people fighting over loot we did not need. They let me have the Heart of Hakkar that I never got in the first place. That's not the most amazing thing, so later on in the day we're running Naxx to get some people gear, and my last splinter of Ateish dropped. So i'm like Oh my god, Mine. Of course they give it to a warlock with no splinters and I get over the top &*!@ed, after all the work me and the guild had put in to it. So i'm very #$%^ed at our tank. Who just so happened to be getting Thunderfury that night. Well I went out and waited at the spawn for my little prince, tagged him right before the fight, out of raid. Let him die, (Now I was just planning to spam tag him thinking "Okay i'll just !@#$ him off." to my surprise, he dropped Thunderfury. And yes, for not giving it back I was yelled at by every person on the server, including GM's. But just to be able to walk in to Orgrimmar holding my epic- Sorry, Legendary Blade of sweetness, and have atleast 200 people running up to me, my chat log already broken, So that's my story of how I destroyed my Mage, with thunderfury. (God I regret it..)
The Most epic Item Ive ever looted was my wonderful wife then would be my hallowed helm lol its the only epic ive looted (besides my wife and my mounts)
I couldn't tell if it was night or noon, the sky choked with black ash, but with the heat from the lava and forges of searing gorge it didn't matter, the sweet off my brow traced circles around my elgant gnomish nose as i stalked the dark iron dwarves looking for their fabled lookouts spy glass, the 15.9 pound of gore i had brought to scrange earlier was a mockery compared to the buring ichor that has been burnt on to my leather, but on i stalked the smithing tyure was burning a hole in my bags and i wanted out of this blasted pit the tall ones call a home. my daggers releaved one more dorf of his trachea, a vital part of my ventriquilsm act, i noticd this one had something shiny, for a moment i thought maybe this was the spy glass i could turn it in and be done, but what laid there was even better, a precisely calibrated boomstick, right in this bearded wonders ass pocket, fool didn't even try to use it against me, i was still new to the game, but finding my first epic will always be a moment i remember
My first ever epic drop was Dazzling Longsword off one of those woodpaw guys while doing a quest in Feralas. I had just hit 40 and blew all my gold on my mount the day before.I took the gold that I made off the sword (maybe 50g?) and bought Recipe: Savory Deviate Delight with it. I leveled fishing and found that @ level 40 I had no problems fishing inside of Wailing Caverns. I sort of stopped leveling at the time just to recoup the gold from buying the recipe (which took no time at all because cooked Deviates were going for 10g/stack at the time on my server). I ended up having no problems paying for my mount when I hit 60. :)
Getting my warlock the dreadsteed mount was probably my most meaningful achievement to date. This was a couple of years ago and, at the time, having a beautiful dreadsteed meant that you could officially join the Warlock Club. I had one in-game friend help me with the instance runs required, but mostly I had to depend on the help of strangers to help me who had no real compelling reason to. These were just three really nice and helpful people who took part of their day to help me run through Dire Maul and Scholomance. Since then, I have tried to be very unselfish in my play of this game, even though my time is limited. The game doesn't work too well when everyone is self serving. Thanks to everyone who helped me. I've gotten other, better pieces of epic gear since then but the dreadsteed is the most dear to me because of the amazing people who helped me get it.
This will be the most epic item i've ever won, if not nothing else is even significant
