The most epic gear I received in the game, Was whe I crafted the Frozen Shadoweave Set.....with the 4 day cooldowns and the ton of primals waters.........I remember "grinding" as much as you can grind as a priest, the water elementals in Skettis, I can draw a map of that lake without looking....but after weeks of gathering mats I finally made the whole Frozen Shadoweave set....................................................about a month later I respecced Holy for the guild...........need I get into detail about crafting the Primal Mooncloth Set........HOLY PRIEST FTW
My most EPIC loot drop was also my first epic loot drop Mandokir's Sting. Still got it in my bank, I collected almost every ranged weapon in TBC (I am a hunter after all), but it remains my favourite.Using that bow is the closest I'll ever come to being Thulsa Doom
I saw this competition and knew immidiately that there was only one Item that could ever qualify for this. Crystal Adorned Crown, from Azuregos. That helm was the bane of my existance for nearly twelve months. After the first time I saw it on my Priest, I knew I must have it. The 92 Healing on it was completely overpowered compared to the 48 on T2, and when T3 was released it was on par if not better, but for the lack of stats. After deciding to farm that boss, I spent upwards for 30 days played purely camping him when his spawn timer was up, and forming raids to down him when he spawned. Not only did I not get it for this long, that would have been bearable. The pain for me came in not seeing it drop for 45 kills, getting 3 hours sleep some nights between Raid's end and Azuregos' spawn.Nothing beat the day it finally dropped, im pretty sure I deafened those who were in vent with me, woke up all the neighbors and nearly cried with relief, I didn't have to ever do Azuregos again. For me, this reinforced the "random loot is random," a ~6% droprate dropping once out of 45 kills.
Well My most epic drop would have to be The Fungus Shroud Armor dropped by Meshlok the Harvester in Maraudon. To some this may not seem like much of a great feet but after me and some guildines decided to twink a couple of characters in the 49 bracket we took several weeks of gathering bits and pieces of the gear we had researched and getting this piece specifically was tough since Meshlok is a rare spawn thats a little past half way into the dungeon. we probably did 10 full runs with just as many runs from the middle trying to farm Meshlok and hope he would drop the shroud for me and the Bloomsprout Headpiece for a couple enhancement shaman my guildies were twinking. We only ever found him there 3 times which was a bummer but on the upside i got my Fungus shroud. the headpiece never dropped and by this time we couldnt farm it anymore cause toomuch more experience and we would all level to 50 which would ruin the point if twinking at 49. We spent several weeks in battlegrounds kicking butt and finally decided to level. I was the only one to ever get all the gear i was needing. Maraudon even haunted my dreams I had seen it so much. I even managed to roll two 1's in a row which was epic fail but still it was epic.http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/bearwarrior102/WoWScrnShot_041408_184953.jpgI was proud and it was alot of work but paid off. We had tons of fun and its definitely one of my fondest memories during my time playing WoW. Mara was my friend and my foe but it was epic either way. I would love this bear mount. I never managed to get the Amani War Bear and would love to have a big beautiful bear mount such as this. Thanks for the chance to win the mount. Thanks WoWhead.
Do I remember where I was when all this happen? No! But I sure do remember it happening. I have only been playing WOW since end of July 2008 so in reality, Im as noob as they come BUT I lvl'd faster then I should have, because when Bow of Searing Arrows dropped I was like "cool its purple". (I LOVE purple) then, later that day in another area, I got another drop, this time Hurricane dropped. Again I was like, cool. When I said something to a friend of mine about it later that day. They got all hyped saying those are awesome items. Then they told me what they could sell for and I was shocked surprised and completely awed. It helped this noob get geared up the way She needed to be. Making it the most EPIC day of my gaming time.
Probably my very first epic way back in 2006, I had joined a raiding guild who took me to ZG; I made so many mistakes that I was just embarrassed to be standing there (the guild members were *so* nice about it, though). We went for the "fish boss" (if you recall..), who dropped Foror's Eyepatch; I won the roll much to my surprise. Nice! Not to mention a guild officer commented that my rogue's coolness factor had just gone up by 10. ;-)
I must say my most epic drop, was ninja'd. Everyone was talking about how great Burning Crusade was, and I, being poor at the time, couldn't afford it. My friend came over maybe 5 days later, wanting to upgrade his account and have me help him level. When he wasn't looking, I upgraded my account to BC.
My most epic loot drop for me was my 40th splinter of Atiesh. I aquired this great piece of wow lore on the final day the old Naxxramas was accessable. I was overjoyed to have obtained it. That night I assembled the Great Staff and to this day, it remains something of a mark of achievement for me. Even my friends that have been playing since the early 1.2 days say it's quite an achievement.Having been a full-time student with an exceptional GPA and terrible procrastination problems, getting somehitng of great value in WoW has been hard as nails at times, but this remains my most epic MOMENT of all-time for me in this MMORPG.
