There was a better time... the good ol' days of WoW. I remember when I just first started and got to 60, those were simpler times. The night I dinged 60 my guild was running BWL. They were short 1 dps (? I know right?) and they needed me. We pushed our way through Razorgore and eventually reached Vaelastrasz. We had never seen a Dragonfang Blade drop before and this was the week our main rogue was gone. We killed Vael and guess what dropped.... the Dragonfang Blade. I felt bad for the rogue, but I also felt an inner joy. That is definitely my most epic drop.
One of my most epic moments would have to be when after 3 months of farming the gold, I got my epic engineering mount, netherdrake, and nether ray on the same day.
What old school Hunter could possibly make a post in a contest about epic loot and not mention Rhok'delar and Lok'delar? And I killed the demons completely by myself without even any buffs from other classes.
hello <(^,^)>WOWi must say i never got epic loot in my life all my epics from AH shop and was best loot tire0 on lvl 60 was blue i thinkand ya what make u Special ITS EPIC
Seeing the Aegis of the Blood God drop on Hakkar- during my warrior's very first engagement with a raid's final boss was my very first epic- and still one that I hold onto proudly, even if it is just taking up a bank slot these days.
We were on the ZA timer. We had the boss to 5 % when it looked like a wipe. Tank down, main healer down. We burned as hard as we could. and dropped him.... 3 seconds too late.I was the only one there without a bear *sad panda*. But the fight was soo much fun! Rogue tanking for 15 seconds ftw! We never got to go back before the patch.
I am, by nature, a "carebear" type player. I'm unfortunately stuck on a PvP server because my friends chose this and I wanted to be able to game with my friends. In Burning Crusade, I decided to break from the raid-norm of WoW Classic and specialized in the Protection tree on my Paladin. I researched and researched, and determined that the *best* tanking weapon for the Paladin, short of a drop from Hyjal, was the Season2 Arena Mace. So, I specialized in Holy/Prot ... and PvP'ed in a 2-man and 3-man for *WEEKS* to grind out the points to purchase the mace. It took almost 2.5 months - like I said, not a great PvPer. Some weeks, we earned a paltry 200 points (or less!). But in the end, I was able to purchase my mace. I haven't set foot in an Arena since ;) It was an epic I earned - tiny drops of arena points at a time. I still have that mace. I'll likely never sell it.
Good thing I banked that Fire Extinguisher from Zul'drak! I'm gonna have to hook it up to the back of my Big Battle Bear to put out the flames as I roll along on this hotness.
i remember being in the hallow's end event. it was the very first day, and i was in a random group to kill the headless horseman. we went in, and killed him ten times. wasn't much of a chalange, and not all that great loot, but pretty good to pass the time. i remember talking to the group after we killed the headless horseman, they said they really wanted the headless horseman's mount. i had no idea he even dropped a mount, so i asked about it. they said it was an awesome mount that not only could you ride in azeroth, but can fly in outland. at that moment my jaw dropped and hit 6 different keys on my keyboard. i asked my brother about it, and he gave me the same info, and then told me out of his 3 years of playing, he has only once seen it drop, but he has never obtained it. about a week into the event, i'm still doing the horseman quest with my guild each day, and i get the horseman's sword. even after i use my summon, i still go back to town to find a group to go again. i was determined to get that mount. i saw pictures of it here on wowhead, and me being an undead, i knew it was perfect for me. on the 8th day i wake up, and i'm unsure if i want to keep doing this quest, but i think about it more, and realize i've never let my dreams down, so i picked myself up, got in a group and went in. we did 4 kills, and i hadn't summoned yet. finally i move up to the pumpkin, and call forth the horseman. his head pops off a couple of times, and yet he isn't quite dead. finally his head comes off one more time, and as i shadow step toward him, i give him a quick slash with his own blade. the horseman had fallen, and what does he have in his hands but a set of reins. our groupp rolls for it, one person had a 54, another had a 12, one had a 60, the other had a 75, and what do i get? i rolled a 77. as my head drooped down thinking i had no chance at winning the mount, i hear the sound of an achievment. i look up, and i've won. i was happier than a kid on christmas morning. to this day i use my horseman's steed wherever i go.
Most epic for me was when I got the Bloodfang hood and the Bloodletter sword from Ony in one night.
It's not a level-cap item, but I was very excited when I managed to get a Tribal Worg Helm as a hunter. In the 20's any headgear was rare, and so when I looked this item up I had to have it (+7 agility! Woo!) I used track humanoids and checked the spooky Worgen Woods outside Duskwood regularly for two days, dodging the other Worgen and finding the occasional treasure chest. I killed him twice before the helm dropped on the third kill, which was a great fight involving adds, kiting, and good use of my pet. Definitely a defining moment in my hunter career.
My most epic loot is my Brewfest Kodo. I have a bad case of Alt-itis in that I am constantly leveling up alts. So needless to say, my main never has the best of the best or anything "fun" because I am too busy leveling alts instead of grinding something epic/cool for my pally main. So when the mount dropped and I won the roll, I was so happy to finally have something that was a "fun" epic on him. My wife didn't forgive me for winning either till she won the Headless Horseman's mount, lol.
