My second most epic loot has to be a Ziggler I got from a Basilisk while grinding for a cold basilisk eye... it was epic.
It would prolly have to be my second Dragon's call. One day I was on my 15th run of the day in ST I got first dragon's call and i was like WOOOT. a while later i got my lvl 50 rogue quest and was like crap i gotta go back. And when i went back i got my second dragon's call (:
The most epic piece of loot I have ever acquired was the Harbinger of Doom. The story behind it is one of luck and determination.Back when Naxxramas was introduced in the Eastern Plaguelands, and my guild at the time, Chilltown of Anub'arak, was going through the place, a few hunters in the guild were talking about how the loot we wanted had never dropped. We didn't have a single Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting in months of Blackwing Lair clears, or even any melee weapons whatsoever. Despite the fact that we had done so much content, most of us still had the Lok'delar, Stave of the Ancient Keepers, or, even worse, the Darkstone Claymore (No joke.)That night, I was messing around in Naxxramas by myself, the remainder of the night's raid still partied, just pulling mobs and feigning death during the discussion, and had one of the ghouls not reset on me, while the other few ghouls did. I thought myself screwed in all conceivable ways. I dodged the first hit, and my pet cat, Schrödinger, immediately decided to growl and die (or not die, depending on your perspective.) It gave me just enough time to drop a Freezing Trap and run from it. At that point, I hesitated for a moment, with a raid-level ghoul facing me, I thought I should zone out. Instead, I decided to mess around and try my luck, dropping a Frost Trap and starting to dps it. At first I wanted to see how far I could get the ghoul down before dying, but once I realized that I could probably kite him around the circular entrance, I felt it that I was obligated to try. A few times I would have just enough time between Freezing Traps to resurrect my pet, just to watch him die later as the ghoul was rooted by Entrapment from my Frost Traps, and thought that the cat would make a fitting side-dish. At this point I begin to tell people on Ventrilo that this is going on, and some people make their way towards Eastern Plaguelands to see me in action. When the mob was at 15% or so, some of the people watching, too, were eaten alive in two or so hits from the ghoul being, once again, stuck in Entrapment. After a few deaths of my friends, I get the killing shot in on the ghoul, and go to loot it, only to have my heart skip a beat as I see purple text. The Harbinger of Doom pops up in the Rolling for Loot window, since the Master Looter was not in the instance, and the Ventrilo channel roars in laughter, everyone from every separate channel coming in to hear about it. The people watching jokingly told me they would roll Need on the item, but they all passed and let me have the dagger. Getting another one-handed weapon, though, wasn't going to be so easy with the luck we had. :)
My most epic drop was my The Horseman's Helm because I never get to raid so getting epicz was hard for me. This is the best item I could get for not raiding & not doing many heroics.
Just got the Drake from a timed CoT: Strath... couldn't have been happier, most epic thing I've gotten in WotLK
My most epic loot, definitely when I ran Shadowfang Keep. It was my first time running it, I had little instance experience and little knowledge of the game at all, but I knew that when the Shadowfang dropped it was a big deal, everyone wanted it, I didn't really say much about it but the group leader said to roll need, so we all rolled need and well I got it. Some of them were mad, but I couldn't have been happier, it was then I knew I was gonna be a big raider...of course I totally sold it for some phat loots ;)
well i had finally gotten enough fire resistance after like a week of farming crap to be able to go into Molten Core, right before the first boss the regular mob drops the Giant Stalker shoulder piece for my hunter =)
The most "epic"? Slaying Baron Rivendare back in the day when you needed 10-15 people to kill him, and having the ultimate Runeblade of Baron Rivendare drop, which I still keep with me to this day.The most "legendary"? The Eye of Sulfuras.
