At 60, with my rogue, I ran UBRS way too many times for the Dal Rend swords. I even had the key to get more groups, and then out of nowhere felstriker drops, so I specced daggers! :)
My most epic drop was the first time my raid ever killed Ragnaros in legacy WoW. I didn't get anything, but the effort involved in the creation of my raid team and how far we had gotten was enough to truly reward us. We started as a PuG during patch 1.3 on an RP server-- 40 people, nobody who knew eachother, all raiding down to Lucifronn and wiping, coming back the next day and killing him. We then put together our group under the thumb of a stupid hunter who admittedly started the raid so he could get epics, and when he didn't, he quit and we had to pick up the reigns ourselves, clearing all the way to Golemagg in two weeks of raiding, putting together a whole community of raiders, starting a new website and a DKP system. It took us another month, at least, to kill Majordomo Executus, and another six, maybe seven weeks to finally kill Ragnaros. The reward was immense and the sense of satisfaction was intoxicating; knowing that we, together, in a pick-up-group of unguilded but likeminded individuals, were competing with the top guilds on the server was unreal. Watching Ragnaros' hammer flip through the air after countless attempts was one of my favorite moments in WoW, and the reason I love PvE raiding even to this day.
My most epic drop ever was my guild and me had been farming Molten core for about 2months when we finally reached Sulfuron. I saw it on my screen beeing linked by my maintank and the first thought that came into my head was " I HAVE THE MOST DKP!" and I did have the most dkp i did beat the guildmaster and my classleader and all the other hunters by 600dkp I was so amazed about the epic that i got that i would say this is my most ever epic loot ever though i've looted about nine-thousand epics along with the same guild i were in when i got it.
Probably the Transcendence Headguard I'd gotten as the only priest in the server first onyxia kill (back in the ooold, ooold days), and I shouldn't even be in the raid because I was late, but just for the sake of "What if Priest drops and we have no priest!" they invited me over someone else I don't even remember who. I think I got a few hundred tells over the next couple days... "LINK ITEM PLX"
Before WoW the first RPG I played was Diablo, and in Diablo if one of my char's had killed Baal but not gone to the Secret Cow Level, he didn't have completed the game. Eventualy the CD broke from staying too long in the drive(true story), if not for that, I probably would still be playing it. After Diablo II I moved on to Warcraft, the things I most liked were DoTA('cause of the RPG style of course), Tower Defense and, most of all, the Campaigns. As some of you may know in the second campaign of The Frozen Throne, Illidan, Kael, Akama and Vashj can find a little guy called Butcher while storming Magtheridon's Citadel. Once again, if I had done the campaign but had not killed Butcher and got Wirt's Other Leg, I hadn't really done the campaign. By now you may have realised that the most epic loot I ever got in WoW was, while I was in Tanaris killing pirates, when Wirt's Third Leg dropped. To this day I still keep it safeguarded in my bank.
Guess mine would be the Blade of Wizardry from a Skettis mob while doing my dailies. My first and only world epic drop. Sold it for 1800g, yay!
It was about a year ago, I was trying for so long to get the Sun Eater but I just could not get the drop - after about 50-53 Runs I think I counted, it dropped and I leapt out of my chair and did a Aztech style dance around my room when I realised I should really get back and roll need! I did and I won it :D Later to get it replaced with Kings Defender in the same week from my first Kara run. /sadface
The first time I got my warlock epic mount (way back in VanillaWoW) was pretty great, but nothing was as epic as when I finally got my Felheart Slippers from MC. In months and months of raiding on TWO warlocks they had only dropped once for our guild. Getting them completed my Tier 1 set. It was my first ever complete tier set on any character.
