So... someone explain to me why should I care about Pelagos? Actually, dont, because I should not.I feel the nice cinematic gets completely ruined by two things.- Pelagos and how irrelevant any of the characters introduced in SL truly are.- Even if I were to care for him, the way how immediately after a supposedly touching moment and forever goodbye gets denied by him keeping his consciousness and personality as he turns into the Arbiter ruins it.All I'm saying... this didn't even require a cinematic. These characters will never be seen ever again once SL is over, so instead, since apparently resources are so limited right now, spend that time in polishing and making the ones involving the characters we do care about simply... better.
You know, with how this expansion started, I didn't think this would happen. I thought we'd be abolishing the necessity for an Arbiter in the first place. If "This world is a prison", all we're doing is changing the warden.
At least he was not sacrificed for good like some other characters. He appears to be still cognizant of his former self even in the Arbitor form. The former Arbitor did not seem to possess such personal consciousness but barely existed to serve the judgement of souls.
Finally no janky lipsync. The quality of the cinematics this expansion has been all over the place
Yeah, no emotional impact. This expansion is soulless, ironically. The main villain is badly written and lacking and Pelagos, a nobody, gets to be the new arbiter. I can't say that I am happy or angered, just disappointed. This expansion is worse than Warlords of Draenor. Atleast in WoD, you had plenty of awesome cinematics that actually made you care about the characters. In fact, this writting team, for 2 expansions, have proven that they dont know their audience and are worse than Metzen. Metzen was not excellent but he knew his audience and he wrote big, stupid, flashy and bombastic story plotlines which I enjoyed. You, see, in Legion I was pissed off that they retconned Illidan. I was complaining all the time but Metzen did something Danuser time and time again failed. Metzen managed to give context and explain the retconn IN-GAME and if you wanted additional information, information you could do without and still got the full picture, you could just read Illidan's novel. I repeat, you do not need and did not need to read it to get the story or understand it. Metzen managed to make me actually love Illidan. I have never liked him but the cinematics and the flow of the story simply made me fall in love with Illidan. Add to the fact that I've read the novel, which is how I know you do not need to read the book to understand the expansion story. Danuser does not know how to make players give a ^&*! about any characters. Instead, what he is very good at, is to %^&* up every character that existed before him and he has plenty of material to know what the character is about.L.E: I remembered that Danuser thinks season 8 of Game of Thrones is very good and my anger disappeared. Now, I know what to expect from Danuser.
Beautiful moment between my both soulbinds... WHO IS CHOPPING ONIONS?
How lovely! We saw a version of this in PTR but they improved it so much and made it elegant and smooth (especially the hug).
Okay, now why are all the souls still flowing into the Maw? Is Pelagos deeming everyone Maw-worthy, or did Blizzard make another whoopsie?
Nice, they've gotten pretty good with the lip movements. I like.
I've liked this dude since the getgo. He's the best candidate for this job and the quests leading here did a good job showing us that. Personally, I think if we're KYrian we should also get some kinda thing. >.> Just saying, Arbitor is my soulbind. Also, did we expect someone from Azeroth to be the Arbitor? That would make zero sense. We've been here for a minute, they've been here for much longer. >.>
who are they ? who is kleia or pelagos
For the first time in like "ages", an in-game cutscene without the characters moving and talking in slow motion (not the post-processed ones with customized models, movie effects and all that). This slow motion with in-game cutscenes started with BFA one's if I'm not mistaken.
Makes more sense than some people think, look forward to it (though it would be interesting if that frown of light prophecy was delayed to this)
