You're currently looking at a system where it will take 4 weeks to upgrade a single slot to only 220, assuming you reach full cap every week, and assuming you ever get the item you are wanting to upgrade in the first place.
This looks like a terrible system designed by people that don't play mythic plus, cool. PvP is still better, thanks Blizz.
imagine farming 3 weeks of currency to upgrade an item and it's not even at IL cap....and that's not even considering you actually need to chainspam the dungeon to drop the item (that you might already own) again..... I think if you purposefully paid a developer to design the worst possible gearing acquisition system they can think off, it would probably still be better than this. PvP has a vendor, give PvE a vendor, literally how hard can it be.
Skip. Waiting for next raid patch. Thx.
So is Blizzard now in cahoots with Raider.io by requiring us to do all eight mythic+ dungeons at level 5 or greater just to be able to use the new valor system?Frankly I've been perfectly happy with picking one easy mythic+ dungeon (like Mists) and running it on each of my toons once per week just to get a nice piece of gear from the Great Vault.
So will I be able to upgrade to 220 on my alts if my main has KSM or does that character need to have completed all 15s on time? I know this change still doesn't make M+ gearing as good as PvP or Raiding except for the few good trinkets for Raid, but if I can run a bunch of low M+ on an alt and upgrade that to 220 every week or two that would be nice.
Why is Blizzard making it harder than it needs to be? All they have to do is make it exactly like Conquest. If you have a cap of 5000 a week for example, and you missed week 1, your new cap is 10,000. The amount you can hold is only limited by your cap, just like conquest, so you can continue earning your Valor until you finally do unlock the piece of gear you're looking for. Once a new season starts, valor is reset JUST LIKE conquest. There's no "stockpiling" for a new season, there's no "edge" to be gained by doing it quickly. Everyone will move at the same pace, and nobody will feel like they're left behind.Doing it this way kills multiple birds with 1 stone. It introduces a catchup mechanic for those late into a season, it saves the need for separate counters for valor/caps, and it makes the valor system as close as it can be to the conquest system which is what people actually want.
