Oh my god, if it was actually an Old God... then all the people defending her this whole time...
Imagine it actually being Azeroth herself who appointed Sylvanas and raised Vol'jin to a Loa, knowing the faction war would cause an arms race giving both Horde and Alliance a chance to fight the Old Gods, and making Sylvanas a leader as undead can't/arent easy for the Void to corrupt. How embarrassed would Magni be then?
tl;dr- N'zoth.
I am willing to bet a gold piece that Helya had some part in Vol'jin's death and Sylvanas' rise to Warchief of the Horde.
That'd be such a twist if it was Azeroth. So one figure whispered to him, but something more powerful made him one a "deity" wouldn't bother with.
One thing does strike me as a bit odd though... the void wants Sylvanas dead and the void/old gods don't like undeath, at least based on what we know about the past. Are we sure that the goal is to have Sylvanas under N'zoth's power? Rather could it be to tear the horde asunder and get her killed, after all on the hour of her third death yadda yadda.Isn't N'zoth all about deception and subterfuge? Why fight directly when you can make them kill each other within their own factions...
But the void hates sylvanas... Why would an old god make her warchief, unless it's to kill her?
"No matter de circumstances, she is leader of de Horde. I will do all I can to ensure dat her rule is a just one."You're a little too late to the party, buddy.
It was Kerrigan!
