Problem is that it becomes mandatory to use this as the dungeon run in mythic+ will be balanced around the assumption that you have this.I've been through these discussions on forums for few days, and pretty much the vast majority that does mythic+ hates this in m+ setting, while people who never even did mythic+ are for it in mythic+, go figure.
the 1% argument sure is a dead horse by this point and never made sense to begin with. im not sure what i feel about this buff system, but dont think i will mind it. Play most of my dungeons in premade guild groups. but however i see a lot of people just throwing away comments with concern about this being a bad idea, really wish people could comment without all this passive aggressiveness jeez. I can easily understand why some people are not so keen on this, especially if you are a person who mostly/only pugs your keys. I Think this systems can be quite the nightmare for puggers( but i hope im wrong :))Just imagine being a undesireable/meh spec and you are kyrian, your bis conduit drops in a dungeon with necrolord buffs, i can imagine a world where that person can actually struggle finding groups for that dungeons because people will just pick people who are necrolord over him.
If you be done m+ then you would know that if you don’t fail mechanics and wipe, and your dps know their classes you can easily 2-3 chest a key with any spec and without rogue in td either for example, people will still easily time without using those buffs if they don’t fail and wipe, hell even one wipe most of the time still gives you a ton of room to time easily so no, the buffs won’t be mandatory. So the only people that will see it as ‘mandatory’ are the bad players who need to stack everything in their favor in hopes of timing it and still fail because they invited that form meta spec player with best m+ covenant which you end up having to carry cuz he is terrible at the game but gets carried all the time cuz people assume they must be good if they play meta right? XD
This won’t be an issue imo, people overreact as always about anything. M+ are not designed around covenants so you will be able to do them regardless. Waiting for the ultimate grp will take longer than not caring about all the requirements people think are needed and finishing it regardless, while others are still waiting with all their invite requirements. However I want covenant class abilities (signature abilities can be locked behind covenants) being interchangeable to play around with different builds and try out different synergies with legendaries and conduits etc.
I love all of these. Friends and I are planning on picking a different covenant each so we can get full use of these cool mechanics in our M+ groups. Woo! <3
I would prefer that they put more work on class utility balance in M+, rather than trying to bandage the convenant system putting even more imbalance / frustration for having the bad one / exclusion issues everywhere.Good luck finding a M+ group for players playing feral / enhancement shaman / retrib / survival / markmanship hunter / shadow priest / .... and in addition not having the good convenant :)
I don't think people understand that these effects HAVE TO BE active in mythic+ to be balanced.People will specifically always want at least 1 person from a covenant that can activate all those effects in the dungeon, guaranteeing that regardless of covenant, you will be useful for some dungeon, somewhere, and you can actually play the game..I am so glad these are in the game. It is essential for the covenant balancing: "5 venthyr only" will never happen, because you will always need at least 1 to activate the secrets of the dungeonThe only people who don't want this, are those who want "optimal covenant" min-maxing for every piece of content. With these effects, it makes it IMPOSSIBLE to have 5 people with the optimal covenant for every dungeon, since you will miss out on other dungeon effects which could be more important. That means, at most, you will have 4 people from the optimal covenant, meaning, you are guaranteed 1 sub-optimal covenant per dungeon for high-end dungeoneers.
"Oh my gosh, one more variable added to the matrix, this will increase exponentially the time to optimize all the possible interdependant combinations! Expansion ruined! Fork you Llizard!".It's funny to see all these self-proclaimed "meta" players panicking with this new fun features.
