All this dumb "omg but think of the PVP!"Yeah, ESO and GW2 have done this for years now. Everyone working together unless you want to PVP: then it's team colors or faction divides.Easy as pie.
Maybe. But I think too much is being read into, "Alliance don’t have that same division in their ranks just yet, and there isn’t that same natural point of choice."
What about they wanna make WoW like Warcraft III, with 4 Faction: Alliance, Horde, Undeads and Night Elfs?
God... I hope they don't remove the Faction barrier. That would suck. :(
"with Calia Menethil poised to lead"I will keep saying this, Calia should go kill herself and do the world a favor, She is, by far, the worst choice for a Forsaken leader. She already abandoned her people once and the Forsaken no longer view themselves as the humans they once were, she has no ties to them besides the ones that the Alliance made for her. She will never be a Horde leader even if Blizzard installs her as one.
I gotta note, noticing a lot (and I mean a LOOOT) of those for for the cross-faction are also Alliance players. Not sure why this is the case, their faction was never the target of a villain bat repeatedly and used as leverage to tell Good-Evil stories while being forced to swallow the mantra of, "no one is truly evil," while doing all the butchering they can to character development. They're trying to play the Light-is-bad angle as well, but using am Alliance-inserted Horde leader to do it, so clearly they're not done.Guess that "Faction Imbalance" really stuck in their craw for all it's worth. Even though I would roll Ally for those sweet queues if it wasn't for those milquetoast stories inundated with Self Righteous Indignation.
I just want my bee mount as hordie
And this is how Warcraft dies. Just one expansion after Christie Golden is hired, she gets her wish of the Horde becoming an Alliance vassal state.
fantastic article. got me super giddy and excited for blizzcon. i hope to see a lot of stuff here confirmed. tysm
My main rant is going to be about leaders (mainly Horde as Alliance has been too busy reacting to Horde their internal issues haven't had room to surface and cause open problems)I haven't been paying attention, has anyone already mentioned that Calia and Derek are just Alliance versions of Sylvanas and Nathanos? In that respect along with Voss they just feel like place holder leaders same as the Pandarens as well as Orc leaders after Garrosh, you know, just there because. It's hard to see how new undead will be explained. For the Horde without the Val'kyr something else will have to take their place, while for the Alliance either they're all Night Elf based, having been initially resurrected by Sylvanas and seeking ?salvation?, or they go hypocrite and have the Naaru granting "second life" to fallen champions.Calia and Derek have essentially just started out and have a lot of room to grow but Voss either comes off as either "I'm too busy doing my own thing" kind of loner or simpering in a whiney kind of "It's okay. We'll find a way to get through this." Voss could get a transformation story, figuratively and possibly literally, such that she steps up in a way that people will take one look and say that's a leader. In a similar regards to Voss I'd hope the same would happen for the Pandaren in that either Aysa and Ji "level up" or possibly do a flip on the Death Knight aspect, in that all Death Knights are part of the Ebon Blade and call Acherus home, with the possiblity of cross faction races, have all Pandaren call Taran Zhu leader, for the most part.Further for the Alliance, I haven't played enough to know of a suitable Gnome replacement of course they could just say with the help of the mechagnomes they were able to unfreeze/revive Mekkatorque. While the Night Elves have Tyrande she's kind of given up/ignoring most of her responsibilities as such there is potential for a them to start raising a replacement. Personally I'd like it such that it turns out the powers of the Night Warrior touch upon the void so we find out she being corrupted and have to beat her down so we can "clense" it. As to whether or not she'd survive could be up for debate but most likely 9 out of 10, or whatever exagerations Tyrande fans want to make, she'd survive.Further expanding on the Night Warrior void corruption, link it to Sylvanas in an expansion wide thing where she tries to get ultimate power over death, fails to do so but in the process is once again placed as the leader of the Forsaken with Tyrande having to back off for now. Then to keep her in check have Voss as her watcher, who herself would have gone through an empowerment that while not necessarily Sylvanas' equal definitely a threat, with the possibility of having Nathanos a prisoner to further keep Sylvanas in check. More to this have Vol'jin revived in some form as a sort of Shadow Spirit Hunter/Warrior where if he doesn't take leadership of the Trolls he is at least council to, most likely, Rokhan. For the Tauren, to me, Baine seems immature, as to why, I can't articulate it properly so going to skip reasoning. While there really isn't anybody who can replace him I'd want to see a council of Three horns/hooves/whatever with Baine representing the main Tauren, Mayla representing the Highmountain Tauren, and Magatha Grimtotem's granddaughter representing the re-acknowledged Grimtotem Tauren maybe even having it such that the Grimtotem become another available variant race and Alliance balance for that would be the Wildhammer Dwarfs. But with Magatha's granddaughter have her be a pessimistic realist playing devils advocate who has just a little too much of Baine's ear, also maybe a supporter of Sylvanas. For the Orcs have Thrall go through one last transformation scenario where he sheds his wishy washy "woe is me" martyrdom and once again becomes a worthy leader, at least of the Orcs. And if for whatever they don't want to keep him at least have him help raise the next leader properly, maybe even his own son, so we don't get another Garrosh with the leader feeling abandoned and doing crazy junk(meth) to cope or another Suarfang to busy looking for death and honor that changes at the drop of a hat.For other leaders, to me things seem fine as is.Side note for those who want Sylvanas dead the only way I'd accept it is if Tyrande, Malfurion, Genn and Jaina also died in the process.
I do love these speculations. If one is smart, they'll enjoy them, but know they are merely as it says. A speculation, not a guarantee. These speculations aren't without merit.
I wish heritage armor sets were more than just another set of mog. What if they were more like the challenge sets from MoP? Take the mechagnome heritage armor for example, there aren't any extra 3D bits for the arms and legs. They could add tesla coils jutting out from the arms, that glow and arch electricity between each other while charging a spell, and then they spark when the spell casts. They could add little energy jets to the back of the legs, that spark and poof out smoke when you jump, or just put springs on the bottom of their feet. Or, take the void elves's set. Alleria's armor changes when she goes voidfrom, the void elf set doesn't. And then there were the color variants, like the red and gold for the nightborne. They could give that color variant to the nightborne players that reach exalted with Silvermoon. I just feel like a lot of these heritage sets have a lot of missed opportunities.
Some guilds have both Alliance and Horde side, it would be so great to raid all together.
Why is there no talk of what happens to those who kept their "gift" from N'Zoth? I would really like to see what daddy tentacles has in store for them.
