New VA is pretty bad. All the character that was in the previous performance is gone and he sounds so generic now.
People are of course going to be 'upset' because they've had decades of the same voice which now feels nostalgic of doing tempest keep or magisters terrace hundreds and hundreds of times so it's expected to see people upset about that part, however if the voice actor is being accused of things like mentioned above then it's the correct choice to replace them instead of them being tied to X character in Y franchise like Kale'thas. The new voice actor does a fantastic job with Kael and it sounds incredible as well as like the Kael we know, they do a great job.
The new one is way better. WTF are you people on?
As a fan of Kael'thas, I've always appreciated the performance of his voice actor. He really made this character his trade-mark in my opinion, his voice is just spectacular and the emotion he brings is on point. I wouldn't want to discourage the VA who is replacing him, but taking away Quinton Flynn's performance and something he has been a part of for so long (almost 2 decades now) over accusations and without verdict is just another one of Blizz's disappointing decisions that I've seen lately. Every day this company drifts further from what I've grown to love about it over the years. What happened with innocent untill proven guilty? Someone writes bad stuff on social media and we all jump to conclusions and decide to just delete everything that person has worked for in his life? Jesus...
Although the article was published November last year, anyone who gets WoW news or any Blizzard news strictly from WoWhead would think this is a recent story, as in, past couple of weeks to a month, a couple of months at most, so unless brand new information came to light, I don't think we can really make judgement on journalism until we know more - I'm remaining neutral in regards to Flynn's case. However, in regards to the new voice, I admire the new actor in keeping the original essence of the lines and character!
This is an immense disappointment. People who are not found guilty should not be considered guilty. This is Stalinesque memory-holing and it's never going to be an effective way to distance the performer from the brand. Are they going to re-record Kae'thas in WC3? The Sunwell trailer? In HotS?Convicted guilty in the court of public opinion.
please don't change Jhin... It would be a tragedy
Guilty until proven.. no, just guilty forever. Sucks if he is because that also means Metal Gear Raiden will be different also.
I like the new one.
All this does is either prove people guilty of the same acts are trying to wash their hands of the things Quinton might or might not have done until there is 100% prove of it and he is tried in court.Just one of the many reasons why don't play WoW anymore.
And yet you're still here, whining and crying, Truegoranus...
I love the irony of people accusing cancel culture without any real confirmation that any of the issues revolving Flynn is actually the reason this was done.
Good, I don't want a nonce voicing characters in my video games. Plus Kael'thas' voice lines were all really bad, genuinely terrible acting. No big loss imo
The new one is not bad. I just pray there is an actually good reason for this decision.
Wow, I was not expecting this at all. It's a shame to hear the old nostalgic voice go, but it's for a good cause.
A good cause? What good cause? An unproven allegation from the internet 15 min of fame witch hunt machine that is social media?
