Unlocking Gnolls, Tuskarr, Ogers, Arrakoa, Jinyu and Hozen would be great casual content.#GnolldruidsinOrgrimmar
Jeremy Feasel (Muffinus) leading the experimental team? This is superb news actually. This guy, along with Celestalon who now works on Hearthstone, were two major movers for all the WoW secrets. This guy learns fast from things and is actually willing to try new things. And yes, sometimes you wind up clicking pebbles as a ...waist of time, but then other times you wind up with hivemind mounts and other cool stuff.
holly is doing a good job. i like her
"Learning experience" excuse is getting old, they say it every time. And hell-no to crossplay!
A bunch of meaningless PR fluff talk, like always. "Learning lessons" but never applying those lessons or misapplying them in a way that no one asked for under the pretense that they were listening to feedback."Plunderstorm outperformed Blizzard expectations."The mode based entirely around FOMO, with the type of outfit countless players have begged for for years as a reward, and a healthy dose of tenders? Of course it did well. This is like throwing a steak at a dog and after it wolfs it down you say it outperformed your expectations."Blizzard feels like they have underserved "casuals" and "midcore" players and are working to address it with all different play modes and content being added."This song and dance is so, so old. They say it every expansion and then continue focusing around M+ and raids."Did plunderstorm panned out like intended? No. It didn't go at all how Holly planned it. They admit they overplayed it way too long, maybe would be better to not said anything at all. Lesson learned. Blizzard is willing to take more risks now."They also explicitly set the expectation that it was DF content by putting it on the DF road map then kept being coy about it, knowing full damn and well that absolutely everyone expected it to be actual content."Plunderstorm is limited time due to a design decision. Its design isn't one of long-lived game mode. Blizzard is now going back to take a look at lessons learned from it and how they can improve for the future"It's time-limited because that's how FOMO works. It they announced PS was permanent then the player counts and engagement metrics wouldn't have been the slam-tilt, full-bore one they wanted for the quarterly reports. Also, companies love to use phrases like "design decision" like that automatically qualifies it as something legit rather than explicit manipulation or something else that's self-serving. Just like Dracthyr being so limited in mog options, citing not wanting everything to clip and that every piece of gear they could wear would have to be custom-designed for them. Then later one of the leads outright admitted that most gear would look fine on them with no changes at all. Which translates into "We wanted their options severely limited" which I am assuming was to make sure everyone was using their race-specific gear appearances. But he couched it in "artistic choice" like that explained it away. Nope, sorry, can't complain about it, It was an "artistic choice.""War Within was "made for Holly", it has so much "casual" content, content to keep players engaged from follower dungeons to delves, it allows players not looking to group up or only do content with a close-knit group of friends."I'm going to be honest, I have no idea who she actually is or what her playstyle is like. But saying something was "made" for someone specific is a bad idea. If things go badly then the community decides they are to blame and all the hate will be directed at them. Look at Ghostcrawler, who got blamed for everything just because he was the public face for the company at the time. You think the community won't turn on this Holly and lay the blame for everything they don't like at her feet? She's to blame, right? TWW was "made for her." So she's to blame, right? This is what happens when PR departments write your responses. And she's about to learn that lesson, guaranteed. Also the rest of that statement is more fluff. They say the same thing about every single expansion, more casual content for blah blah blah and it always turns out to be glorified lipservice.
All recent interviews with blizz devs and producers just confirm what we already knew.If you do not like the game right now, it is not going to get any better, quite the opposite.
Plunderstorm outperformed Blizzard expectations.gfy really how brain dead and disconnected do you need to be nvm its blizzard after all
That FOMO stuff will blow up in their face. FOMO just makes players hate the game more and more, at the end there won't be any core players left to manipulate for profits.
This game mode will always be trash, and everyone knew they were going to use the metrics of those that wanted the rewards as actual game metrics. Do it again but with zero rewards and see how few people actually play it. Giant waste of resources.
