YES! This made my excitement of Dracthyr go from 0 to 70 in just a few lines. Bulkier forms, show off shoulders and tabards, great stuff. Sign me up.
I'm really loving that teal dragon head with the ram horns!
Sooo, people are asking with a tons of months in advance they just want the choice to enjoy the character the way they like, but the answer is no. Seems like old blizzard, forcing their point of view instead of let the people choose.Sad :(
Honestly, I love it. I can't wait until we get some to try out in the wardrobe on here. It's understandable we'll have to transform into the full form when in combat like worgen. Also I hope this calms down people in discussions about them looking to skinny/feminine/etc, and the more customization the better! I will be playing around with this so much in wardrobe when available :D
Due to Dracthyr is limited to one Race and one Class I really hope that they will go crazy with animations and customization similar to Demon Hunters but slightly more crazy.I really love the idea of the class/race combo that they can pull off so much more unique things but they really need to use that opportunity.I also hope that we will get as many races as possible for the ''Visage Form'' because we have seen Dragons using most forms over the years but I don't mind them limiting the races and add them slowly over time to ensure that they all get the quality they deserve.
Very disappointing I can't fight in visage form and just transform for specific spells in a DH meta sort of way. Honestly takes away a good amount of excitement I had for the new class.
I am seeing a lot of comparisons to Worgen, Demon Hunters and Druids, but not enough people explaining or understanding why.The closest comparison to make would be with Demon Hunters, where the simplest explanation is that Dracthyr Evokers are like Demon Hunters if you were constantly in Metamorphosis form in combat. This is also where people have made examples of how the Visage form could work in combat, with the full Dracthyr form only coming into play with certain abilities. It is easy to see why people would want the Dracthyr to work like this, for while the Visage form borrows from the existing Blood Elf Male and Human Female rigs, they have a lot of unique customization to them as well. This is where a lot of criticisms and defenses come to compare them to Worgen, as the only other race that possesses two forms with one locked out of combat.First off, the biggest difference here is that Worgen as a race is not locked to a class like Demon Hunters are. For those saying that if you just want to play in Visage form, you should just play as a Blood Elf Male or Human Female... well, you can't. The Evoker class is locked to the Dracthyr race. It is also not a fair comparison to make, as where a Worgen's humanoid form is visually the exact same as a Human, which you can selectively play as, the Visage form has far different customization options than any other similar race would provide. But just because there is a lot of people that want to play in Visage form, doesn't mean there aren't players who want to play in the Dracthyr form. This is where comparisons to Druids and their shapeshifting forms come in... and some would say that its been working for Druids, so why shouldn't it for Dracthyr? Well, Druids have actually been complaining about this too. Even if you like your shapeshifted form, it can quickly go stale going through an entire expansion looking the very same. It was something they tried to rectify in Legion, by adding more and unique shapeshifting forms tied to the artifact weapons. This didn't just introduce a variety in appearances, but actively showed your progression in the game. That's what the Dracthyr form loses out on more than anything else. Armor is a great way to further customize your character, but it is also one of the few ways to show your progression in the game. Getting raid tier sets, legendary weapons or unique cosmetics tied to quests or faction progress. While it may show in your Visage form, it won't show while you're actively doing the content you're progressing through to earn such items... as many have already said, a large part of the game puts you in combat. In the end, I also believe that regardless of what issue you may have with the Dracthyr Evoker, it becomes exasperated by the race/class locked together. It's not just an aesthetic option that wasn't meant for every player, its the new class, the new content you're paying money for. Many people had things to say about the Vulpera, but ultimately, it's not a race you have to play as. But if you want to play the new class, you have to play as a Dracthyr. In my personal opinion, if they are to create such a critical restriction in the first place, they shouldn't place even more limitations on it and instead allow people some choice in how to play it, to appeal to a larger part of the playerbase.
It's a race/class combo. So your dragon form is like a druid form mechanic. You aren't raking people in night elf form, it wouldn't be as effective. Ergo, you're not flying through the sky breathing fire in your visage form. If this doesn't sound fun to you, don't play it. 75% of the population is going to make them, half of that number will main them for the next 2 years. :pThat being said... I don't see the harm in having it be a toggle. Visage form in combat while shapeshifting temporarily for certain abilities. And allowing Dracthyr perma form for those who want that. Why not let them have their cake and eat it too?Oh, what's that? Expansion to be expected in March 2023 but if we do Visage form it's May 2023? Nevermind. >.>
Let us fight out of dragon form. Always transforming into worgen form when fighting is why I don't play a worgen. I want to choose how I engage in battle, not be forced to change every time I swing at something
So druids have been asking for this, specifically for moonkins. Since the rise of the chicken and these guys get exactly what we wanted. Nice going blizzard.
Blizzard, you asked for feedback so here I go... PLEASE, let us use the visage form for combat also (maybe with a specific glyph or something like that). We've seen the aspects use magic in their "humanoid" form plenty of times <3
I really hope there is a neck length option as well. I think that is one of the parts that really looks off to me.
I want a beefy body like some NPC in the isle, not just torso. Dragon should be strong, like dragonkin guards in Cavern of Time since vanilla. And what about human form? I don't want to be an male blood elf or female human in humanoid, I want to be an Orc, I want to be a Tauren, I wan to be a dwarf ! why I have to be an elf? there's too many elf.Demon hunter is elf only, now again? Come on, Blizz, dragon should be able to decide what they want to be transform to.
Read through the interview, and though they somewhat danced around it am I correct in understanding that the dracthyr model cannot display most armor slots? It's interesting how they've cited the ability (or lack thereof) to wear armor pieces as dealbreakers for potential playable races before, like centaurs or naga, but now we've gotten a couple new player models that just can't display all armor. Mechagnomes don't show their shoes, gloves, or most of their pants and now it seems that dracthyr won't be able to display their helmets, gloves, chests, pants, or shoes in their main/combat form. I really love the draconic model and i'm stoked to hear about all their customization but i'm kinda sad their armor and transmog options are so limited. the point about druid forms is good, guardian and feral already do all their fighting without their armor displayed but that feels a bit different than a highly customizable model that they want players to spend a lot of time in. i like how they handled pandaren paws and tails, with holes in the armor that look like they were put there on purpose and they just always wear open toed sandal shoes; i think something like that would work around the dracthyr's wings, tails and feet
Fix the neck.
*sigh*I really wanted to be able to see all of my armor in the dracoform. No boots more than likely either. Really hate that...
People want some changes to the model. I've never seen a post get this many awards in /r/wow in such a short amount of time. https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/u7y3us/how_some_changes_in_the_anatomy_make_it_so_much/
