The current PTR state of the monk staff -> Relic V boosted Lesser magic wand shuffle is totally broken as it currently stands on PTR, it is just a license to print gold and needs to be fixed or it will cause massive inflation. @warcraftdevs #goldmaking #shadowlands pic.twitter.com/bkokHOn0sL— Wooraah (@Wooraah2) October 3, 2020

yeah I feel like any gear bought from a vendor at a lower level 1-49, should not be disenchantable, just because of things like this. I mean most people wont abuse it if it is disenchantable but thats only because they are leveling, not focused on gold making. So making them not disenchantable solves the problem without hindering everyone leveling new characters.
I can only imagine how many scenarios like this exist with the new leveling and crafting changes. Make that gold before it gets fixed.
I don't understand why relics of the past need to exist at all.
Oh so this is why things like Deep Sea Satin have been climbing to extreme highs recently. The problem here is that the item can already be disenchanted ahead of time, so the only fix is going to be increasing the materials required to craft the wands. And even then, can you really mitigate those numbers? This is very extreme, even more than the Pants stuff.
I just hope they wont remove the items,i mean make them non disenchantable just leave the items in the game
What I don't get is why items upgraded with relic of the past has its gold cost increased at all. I assume it is done automatically by the code as part of some mechanic to make upgraded items more valuable but I feel it should be possible to turn that mechanic off in this instance.
*Pushes massive pile of gold behind me*I see no problem with this shuffle.
Can't they just make it so that upgrading gear with Relics of the Past don't change the regular vendor price at all? The whole system should be about being able to craft older gear and make it relevant so that you can use it while leveling, not about vendor gold.
Like you said the best thing to do would be "A potential fix here is to make all items sold by these two vendors unable to be disenchanted"its a no brainer coz anything else really don't help relics of the past.. which we all agree is an excellent addition to the game in more ways than one. Hope Blizz listen and sort this out fast before botters get onto this.p.s. anyone who says remove the gold increase is really not getting the full story on the idea behind relics of the past.I personally would not make relics/old gear if there was no reward what so ever. If the item does not sell on the AH. the cost of the relic would just put me off doing it all together.time(making items) + effort(farming) should = reward. (just sort out this vendor problem)
You can make those items disenchantable, but there are going to be more vendors out there with similar stuff no? it is not the only place to get that essence either, just maybe the easiest to get from level 20.
Man, I hope they dont nerf ALL the relic sell costs. They may decide that making the gear is good for equipping someone, meaning, make a limited amount but have no intention of the relic flip making gold, I could see them easily just cutting the vendor price of ALL relic gear by 80%, making it not worth gathering the mats anymore. I hope they leave this as a small method to make a little extra gold.
What about SL cloth that can be shuffling (i.e. crafted into items that you then sell to vendor) for 8g a unit ?Because Runecloth and Mageweave are nice ye, but yet not everyone is farming it.SL clothes however will be droped constantly by player all over SL adventures not to mention farmers. This will create a massive inflation. Every single cloth you will loot in SL will virtually generate 8g into the economy and this apply to every single player, not only thoose who will bother diving into old content to farm old mats.In comparison, BFA's clothes was shuffled for 2g a unit.
World of Warcraft is a game, and something you do to escape reality. And as such should not involve managing an entire game's financial system, or your own character's economy. If the rest of the systems don't kill my enjoyment and engagement with WoW due to terrorizing game design, then the pseudo-real-world-economy sure does. Especially - and I do really mean ESPECIALLY! - when that economy has real world value in it thanks to the horrible game token money laundering machination.
