In my current guild the average is around 27 and the average amount of children is 2. So yeah im the second youngest guy in the guild, but age doesn't really matter. We all have fun and raid, also one of the officers has got 2sons that play wow with us within the guild.Edit: all officers are in their late 30's except one the former guild master he is around 49-51
Wouldn't their reactions be very slow at such an age..? I mean, if the person is doing PvP, I just can't see an 80 year old playing with keybinds effectively. Just an observation, people of that age are probably more interested in PvE content anyway.
Haha! Go ambiguously old dude! I've talked to someone said they were 86 and another said they were 6 (over Ventrilo sounded like he was barely pushing 6).
Both of my parents play and they're no spring chickens. Also back in the days of the Olf Honor systems there was an Alliance hunter on Earthen Ring named Longarms. He was consistantly ranked a Grand Marshall, despite his rather unoriginal tactics. It wasn't a decent AV unless you had killed him at least once. Rumor had it he was a 80+ retiree who spent the majority of his time PVPing, earning him the ranking.
I've talked to a man who told me about his granddaughter who also played. He said he was probably the oldest person on the server.Mok'Nathal US, BTW. I forget his name, but I probably wouldn't give it for his own anonymity.
I Had a guildleader on alliance and she was the leader of The Cursed, she was 30-ish,, I liked her alot.. she was verry friendly and always found a way to cheer me up..
I find the most common age for end game content raiders on my realm tends to be 17-25. Our guild leader is in his mid-thirties and does often play a bit of a 'parent' role during particularly stressful encounters by smoothing out tension. Our oldest guild member is said to be 55-70, though no one is quite sure how old he is. Nice calm fellow that does not raid anymore. While the majority of the players on WoW are of the computer generation, there are more older players then one would think.
I think it is a 52 year old man. He was very pleasant, and was willing to help others. He moved servers however, so I don't know how he is now. However, many people in the 20-35 range are more immature than a majority of teenagers which play.
The great thing about gaming is that the age of the body differs from the age of the mind and heart. Through this, we can achieve mutual understanding without the usual resistance brought on by IRL differences. Interesting.
I am part of, and used to help admin an online community called The Older Gamers. We have thousands of members, and play all kinds of games - from shooters, to driving sims, to mmos. World of Warcraft is just one of many.TOG's guild on Proudmoore (one of the launch servers) was formed on launch day, and is still going strong. There are so many members, in fact, that there are 2 guilds (Thorns and Titans of Gold) and use an addon to merge the two guildchats. The only stipulation to join TOG is that you must be over 25. :)I think that video gaming has been around long enough now that those of us who played the first games when they first came out are all now tied to jobs, with kids, retired, or all of the above!Find us at http://www.theoldergamers.com
