Like anyone is up to rank 10 who didn't slam PTR or read cheat guides. Sure.
I mean, daily grinds are pretty much par for the course since late TBC. Anyone actively playing WoW today pretty much accepts them, even if they don't enjoy them. The visions are something new, where you're asked to do the exact same thing multiple times in a row. Not a bunch of different things every day for a couple weeks, but the exact same thing a bunch of times once per week.I really viciously hate that, and I hope they aren't bringing it forward into Shadowlands.
next week a new book starts and you only need 1 run
I never at any point said or even implied they did. But I will point out that MoP dailies definitely did impact your power level, they were the best way to grind valor points to upgrade your gear, and that's the primary reason why everybody hated them. One faction, Golden Lotus, also gated two other factions which were needed for enchants and more opportunities to grind valor. It was rough.
Love the salt in this thread. This patch is pretty good and it feels good to log in and have something useful to do. If you're feeling burned out on WoW take a break until the next expac, thats what most people usually do by the final patch. Also the vision crashes were fixed a few days in the release, disable add ons its not blizzard its you.
Not to defend the confusing presentation of Visions as a system, but once I failed two visions on my ~440 ilevel survival hunter, I started saving all of my vessels/coalescing visions (without hitting the cap of 5 vessels and 25k CV) until I could get the appropriate gear to run them effectively. Once I upgraded a couple of my gear slots with Normal Ny'alotha and M+7ish gear, I was able to keep up with the cloak upgrade quests. Yesterday, at cloak rank 9, I solo cleared Orgrimmar for the first time to get rank 10 and now have my first mask to start thinking about. Today, I'm sitting at ilevel 456, rank 10 cloak, and have 3 vessels ready to use (not including the one I'll get from today's assault, and the extra ~9000 CV I'll get from secondary assault and first weekly minor vision). My plan for this week is to focus on getting the cloak upgrade by doing one corrupted area and one lost area (trivial at this point) since that sanity reduction is huge, then next week when we only need one rank for the upgrade, I may try a mask run, but will ultimately save for the following week's progression.Eventually when the max rank gets to 13-15, I will fall behind anyone who never failed a single vision or used a vessel on a run that didn't give them on an upgrade. But honestly, I think that's a very small minority who have probably already full cleared with 5 masks anyway.Remember, you're not COMPETING with anyone on this. The cloak doesn't do terribly much in the raid and it doesn't get much stronger at higher ranks. So beyond a 2 item level upgrade per rank, you should mostly be doing these for fun or for the rewards, like I am.So, while I empathize with you all who have lost vessels, you also need to get a bit of a grip on reality and understand that you're probably not using your LIMITED resources WISELY. Take a step back and figure that part out before you waste any more time/vessels and come on here hating the system. This is one of the more engaging solo content systems they've come up with. And if you think you can ignore dailies/assaults and still get to the same point in cloak progression as people who have been doing it since patch release, lol @ you. There's a spot on the bench next to everyone's alts.
To get your cloak to 11, you will need four runs of two medium areas each, not one. That's my primary complaint, personally.
I dont get people complaining about a catch up. This is the first week to require 4 runs. Next weeks upgrade will likely be the book from a hard area so 1 run. Plus, a catch up some something that's barely a month old doesn't seem reasonable
I highly recommend everyone to read the guide about legendary cloak before throwing hearsay into air and crying themselves to sleep. You will be surprised.https://www.cuckhead.com/guides/obtain-legendary-cloak-overview-upgrading-stats-procs
So what I’m seeing is that some people will be forever behind at this point... you can only farm 5-6 vessels max per week, and if you need four runs just to go from 10 to 11, that means if you’re level 9 you need 7 runs to get to 11... so unless the vessels become cheaper or the pages per run are increased, you are forever behind...
