So the best, easy to get mount is one you need to complete a legendary questline for from Cata and then only one character can use it?
maybe link the questline to obtain the staff?
This mount would be a lot cooler if you didn't already have to have the staff on a character to use the mount. Honestly was hyped that I could unlock this as a mount for all my characters and then was thoroughly disappointed when I realized only characters that already have the staff can use it. That's so dumb, why should I have to grind the stupid staff on every character I want this mount on? I already did it once, this should be switched to an account-wide unlock.
this is a cheap shot , sad excuse for a post
It’s a great mount, and there is nice synergy between the current storyline and the cataclysm-Firelands story. Also some nice blue dragon/Deathwing lore and story locked behind a legendary questline (back when such things weren’t just open to everyone). Just a note it takes weeks and weeks to get the legendary staff, and you will get sick of Firelands. Definitely one to do on your “main” caster.Open to Druids, Shaman, Mages, Priests and Warlocks.
Probably one of my favorite mounts to use for my mage, a bit annoying that you have to do the whole cata legendary and the blue dragonfight questlines again if you want to use it on alts that can use the staff. (Really not worth doing it again imo)
Wasn't this supposed to be a dragonriding mount?
Not that special if only 10% of the playerbase can get this mount. I thought all 12 of these mounts would be available to all players. Not just players who happen to have a character that uses a staff.Let's get a #13 that all players can enjoy! That would make it 12 mounts that all players can enjoy lol.
You failed to mention that you have to be level 70 to get the quest.
In case anyone's wondering, the Cata questline to get the staff can actually be done a LOT faster than you would initially think. I ended up getting it done in about 4 weeks total I think. There are two tricks you can use to speed things up greatly. For one, Firelands can actually be cleared on both normal and heroic in the same week, meaning you actually get two full clears per week for the first gathering stage of the quest. I was quite surprised to discover this, since most of the old raids aren't like this.Second, though there is another gathering quest of sorts right at the end of the questline (the one where you have to siphon essences off of the dead bosses to power up the staff), that step can be fully completed in just one week. The reason for this is that you don't actually have to loot any bosses for this quest, so what you can do is have a friend (or an alt character) invite you to a group, and you can actually respawn all the bosses inside the raid by doing this. You won't get any loot after your first clear, but that doesn't matter, since all you need is to siphon the essences off of the bosses. So yeah, still a somewhat time-consuming grind to get the staff, but it can be done much faster than you might think.
There are some seriously garbage responses to this post and the 12 days altogether. My goodness. Some of y'all need to touch grass. Breathe into a paper bag. Seek counseling. Mercy.Thank you for the 12 days! Your articles inspired me to go back and wrangle up a few mounts I had been missing just as much as they helped me remember a couple of mounts I already had that I had forgotten about. Happy 2024 to you and yours!
I have been way too lazy to finish off that quest line on my Druid. Still sitting at the part where you have to assemble the branch by collecting some essences/gems from each bosses that require some tricky stuff to pull off if soloing and might not even be possible for the first boss after reading some comments on the quest page DelegationOne of those quiet and boring days/weeks, I might finish that one off. 🤔
I remember this being datamined long ago but I never actually followed up to see if it was added to the game. Guess I'll need to do Azure Span on my mage.
