So, if archaeology is limited to Azeroth, why did Outland and Dreanor have artifacts?
Re: Archaeology - Yeah, that answer is a load of crap. The real answer is just that they didn't have the time or inclination to get to it. It's a shame because I really enjoyed Archaeology when it first came out. It fell really flat in Legion and hasn't been the same since for me.
I am guessing because we can freely travel between Azeroth and outlands, so we could easily just bring Archeology there, but this is the first time we can travel to and from the literal death realms.
It'd be easier to say since time runs weird in the Shadowlands there's no "ancient culture" to be dug up
No Archaeology because "Archeology is entirely linked to the artifacts of Azeroth".1 - Two expansions have proven this false. The sites in Outland and Draenor were for races native to that world prior to any influence from Azeroth.2 - Really botched the opportunity to have some neat little mementos from heroes of Azeroth past, didn't you?
I feel the response to Archaeology is kind of... eh, I mean, there were forerunners, and they left behind structures, so Archaeology should rather be INVOLVED in the whole matter, instead of ignored. That said, everything else, and I am probably in the minority here, sounds really good.Especially being able to catch up with alts and to play the game YOU want to.I am excited.
- Question about Archeology.- Aaaaand here is my answer I've just pulled out of my bum… much pleasureSometimes I wonder if Blizz should pay for a mendacity training for key people. They are so awful in imporvised answers and subterfuge. Pity.
Sorry guys, but Judgehype exists since 1998... It's absolutely not a new site.
If they """can't""" add Archaeology to Shadowlands they should at least add another type or two for previous zones.Call it like it is guys. It's more content cutting because Blizzard is, once again, overextended. This bodes very badly for Shadowlands not having the same unfinished crap as BFA.
I have to disagree with Archeology being tied to Azeroth Races. In Legion we had burning legion artificats. In shadowlands we could have first one artificats or something. But yeah like others pointed out it's been on the decline for archeology and i fear it may get axed 1-2 expantions from now. Shame cause I do like to take my shovel and dig from time to time when I am bored.
They should either:
That's such a poor answer to the Archaeology profession. I'm still irked about the lack of Archaeology in Nazjatar, a place teeming with relics of the past. Some we even see through quests. To instantly spin their logic on it's head, the shadowlands is full of those who died before us, those who chose to shed their mortal posessions and become full fledged members of the races that occupy the shadowlands. Are we to believe that there are no archaeological remains of these peoples former selves? These entities from many worlds just dumped their otherworldly possessions into a void and there is no remnants? No I don't believe that, they just didn't invest time in archaeology because they've got the internal numbers and they know people don't bother with it.
Where is the goblin and worgen monks with the new starting zone there's no excuse for not having them now!
They really need to stop giving these answers with stretched, weird reasons. Just be upfront and say you don't have time or just don't want to do something with archaeology in Shadowlands.
