Customers complain when they are dissatisfied with a product, it's nothing new
When I see followers , I get sick !It's so fuc_ing waste of time !
... Well, that's going to get tedious for alts real fast. The shipyard was bad enough having to farm oil. Doing the garrison campaign on every toon for the campaign also rapidly got tedious. The Legion class hall seems to have a LOT of hoops to jump through. It's fine for the first toon, but for altoholics, it's going to suck. Blizzard really looks like they're trying to slaughter alts in Legion, but chances are players would just quit instead. Not many will take kindly to losing alts they've potentially played for years.Putting getting a second (third, and fourth) legendary behind the class hall campaign is really bad. Garrisons have put many players off and Blizzard will be hard pressed trying to get those players past the bitter taste to try the class hall missions. I certainly have little interest in having to do the class order hall on every single alt just to be able to continue to dual spec the same specs I've been using for half a decade or better. Unless the class hall campaign is something you do without even noticing it, I can see it getting tedious real fast.
Here's to hoping I didn't preorder a garrison copycat nightmare/repeat. I am not a fan of the garrison. I would prefer content and interaction. I hope this is a small percent of the expansion. Sigh..
I finally started playing a bit before MoP; I saw the news and changes for it. Some I thought were cool, others I didn't think I would like. Same went for WoD.. realistically the things I thought I wouldn't like turned out to be things I did like <shrug> (Well except that whole fiasco about not flying/flying and we'll see how that goes for Legion). Main point being wait until the thing is finalized and realized before making up you mind about new features. Personally I despise PvP requirements for a lot of the good things in game and wish there would be none of that, BUT I know that's just my taste in gaming so I don't go on about it and just deal with it.Nothing wrong with voicing concerns but try not to just be a knee-jerk reaction to anything that sounds like old implementations rehashed until you at least see how it's been modified. When the busy season starts up at work I'll plunk down my hard earned cash for Legion on 2 accounts and at least give it a fair shake; doubt I'll quit over it, but rather adapt to what the new norm is and find ways that I enjoy playing.
I liked Blizzard's original announcement of garrisons during MoP where it sounded like a personal space in Azeroth that existed outside expansion releases. There seems too much focus on stronghold investment that takes away the freedom of gameplay preferences.
great now we direct control of lore characters death
Garrison 3.0R.I.P. farm :(Looking forward to some Legion adventures!
I've been waiting for someone to post a summarized preview of how order halld would work! :) Thanks wowhead
I can understand people liked Garrison missions, but what I can't get behind is that they're forcing it on us - AGAIN. Why can't we go to our class order hall to unlock the 3rd slot through class-specific quests, and why do we have to unlock the weapons for our off-spec(s) from garrison missions as well - why can't we go to the same person we get the original artifact quest from since he apparently knows the leads on all 3? (or four for druids). If they're going to put garrison trash in again, don't make it mandatory, ever.I know this might change before live, and I really hope it does, because as it is, it's absolute garbage and asinine.
I enjoy garrisons as a concept. The idea of being able to "build your own fortress" is pretty awesome, as is being able to send underlings on missions. The problems with garrisons on live are twofold. Once you've upgraded all your buildings and followers, there wasn't anything left to do with your garrison. The second issue is the Mission Table interface. It's cool watching your followers leave your garrison after they've been dispatched, but the actual missions themselves have no meaning. Same with the shipyard. I think Legion is going in the right direction as far as improving upon garrisons, honestly. It's a mechanic that's (probably) here to stay, and I can see it being a truly enjoyable addition to the game. Garrisons were too heavily focused on for WoD, leaving other areas of the expansion feeling empty. If the garrison feature is simply an adjunct to the primary game (like Sunsong Ranch was in MoP), I think it'll be much more accepted. Lastly, (and I'm sure I'm in the minority here), but I enjoyed having consequences for failing missions (like destroyed ships). I'm happy that our troops can die in Legion, because it's not fun if nothing's at stake.
actually I love the garrison sistem soothanks blizzard
I actually cancelled my preorder because of this. I don't get how they didn't understand the negative feedback from the mandatory garrisons and mandatory naval ring missions, to the point where they did the exact same thing over again for your artifact. Not everyone wants to do this facebook game...again...exactly the same way it was last time.I can understand people who do like the idea of these missions, but it shouldn't be mandatory for everybody who wants a viable weapon.
The Activision marketing demons have great influence over design these days, it seems. Some prick from Zynga is behind this incessant push toward constant log-ins to check progress, mark my words.
I guess it sounds marginally better than garrison missions, but still... just because people still do those missions doesn't mean they enjoy it in the slightest. I guess we'll have to wait and see, and on the bright side we'll probably be getting an addon for this very early on, to waste as little time and thought on it as possible. Hopefully there won't be much incentive to keep doing them this time around.
I can't help but be very positive about this whole thing, garrisons had flaws one being that they took you out of the world almost entirely and put you into a little echo chamber. That was bad, this new system seems like it corrects that by having you send out scouts to identify quest areas for you to go do your thing with a couple (Maybe just one?) major (minor too!) lore character. That is immersion at its finest. They've got the whole architecture in place for the garrisons and it'd be a shame to see that go to waste (or be completely reworked) from both a business standpoint and out of respect to the people who built the system in the first place. IF this is how the system works I will be completely fine with it, class order halls are so full of flavor and so full of potential that I want to just dive in and enjoy the living hell out of it. I'm going to hold on to that optimism because at the end of the day it's a game I play it for fun.On the negative though - if this turns out to be like the shipyards where I just ignore it but still had to do the beginnings of it for some dumb reason (Because I can't just fly or water walk) then I don't think I'm going to be a fan. Shipyards and garrisons really didn't have any noticeable interactions with the outside world and that was very, very underwhelming. I ended up canceling my subscription just after getting the Legendary ring early September. Nothing really kept me immersed or overly challenged outside of pushing into mythic HFC and I just. I just can't do raiding that seriously anymore. TL;DR - Optimistic if this creates enjoyable quests in the over world with maybe a little item/gold infusion for little to no effort. Pessimistic if it's anything like current shipyards/garrison it will be ignored and a little sad.
