I hope they put one of the tier pieces to the last boss come DF. This way you can still get your 4p without killing the last boss, but you also have an incentive to actually kill the last boss. Right now this is unworkable because eg. if you put chest into Jailer, Resto Shamans would flip out because they need the chest for their raiding 4p because of PTC going into head or hands. But in DF where this kind of restrictions don't exist, it would probably make it pretty fair and people would want to kill the last boss for extra tier pieces.
Yeah, I would rather have them tune the whole raid a bit easier but not having any tests on the ptr aswell as a ban of combat addons. It felt super cool to see the last three bosses at the same time as everyone else and finding a strategy as opposed to be forced to do ptr or watch guides. Same for the Lordaeron questline - please, we need more of that. Use PTR for testing gameplay but not for any story reasons. And boss fights are story ...
"Dorovon - Mage said:I'm mostly indifferent on this, but I lean slightly towards having raid testing.I personally find raid testing on Beta/PTRs to be a lot of fun because everyone who is testing gets a chance to see the bosses for the first time and it still typically doesn't get streamed by many of the best guilds, which allows for more unique strategies to develop."REmoved if non of the bosses get tested then everyone would have the fun of seeing the bosses for the first time.
Kinda in the boat of stuff not being public tested at all. Blizzard is as big a company as it is that if they can't do proper quality control in house, then it should never leave the house. From a world first persepctive, it also kinda taints the idea of it imo. How many times have the world first raiders done the fight on PTR and have near-finalized strategies going in to release? We as the players are so spoiled by having this preview access that we lose our minds when we don't have it.
I would say not only those last 3 are horribly tuned, all of them still are and need massive nerfs...And decision to not test last 3 bosses was one of the worst they ever made. Not only that resulted in horrible tuning, but also in increased amount of bugs on release. This is unacceptable. Not to mention excuse they used to not test them (story/lore spoilers lol what?) makes no sense...Among us mechanic turned out to be mess (what else did you expect?). And they even made it even harder after world first race by nerfing addons that allowed to instantly find impostors for no reason at all.
Most problems mentioned are from wrf players. The environment they have set up is already toxic enough to tune everything around them...
To be blunt I feel like worked and didn't work..it worked in that blizzard actually spent time testing the last three which means they went off without a hitch. Yet didn't in that two of them dropped tier pieces and seriously hindered progression. Along with as stated in the article meant that the final boss literally did not die until weeks later due to vault and time issues with actually killing him on normal and heroic. If they do this again I feel like they need to not tie any sort of power progression to the last few bosses. As that was what made this fail IMO, along with I also feel like it may of not been worth it. As this was a contributing factor as to why a lot of guilds got burnt out and disbanded. As they had no idea what the bosses were going to be like, so I feel like they felt the need to over prepare for them, and meant they put in a ton of effort for it. Yet didn't get much in the way of gratification honestly.
TBH not testing bosses on PTR didn't change anything. Encounters were unbalanced, as always. As NA had 1 day of advantage and I'm not in WF guild, I know every mechanic and every spoiler from the raid before even I placed my foot there. It only mattered in WF.Maybe instead of lack of raid testing, we should test it without textrues or models replaced? And same release date for all servers would be cool too.
At least they're honest saying that they want everything done in PTR so they can just repeat on live. But sorry, the last 3 bosses were amazing to watch.Funny that they're asking for staggered release and when we had that, WF guilds complained about staggered release... hahahaThat's why I say to not care about those guys and focus on making the game fun for 99% of the player base. Just put them on a "tournament server" and let them kill each other with the 1st version of the raid and no buying/selling gear, etc. After all is done, release the tuned version live for the 99% to have fun without any of this drama.
Lords & Rygalon were the most tilting, rage inducing bosses ive ever experienced while progress pugging, everybody turned into cut-throat savages XD
