Same here, I got a 72h ban in TBC for saying something racist in general chat when I was 13/14. Obviously dumb as hell, but I'd love to have a way to 'appeal my standing' now that I'm a grown ass adult.
This is nice, I would love to be a guide. I used to go all the time to the troll starting area and help the newbies around, teach them some basics and give them a ride to Sen'jin Village. idk if I'll be able to, tho, since I once had a penalty in my account I think. Well, good one anyways!
Would be neat if they added a sort of rep for amount of players helped and it could build up to you getting free game time.
Anyone seen Rexar?
If people could give you a mark or something and as time goes on u get lvl up abd get better icons like pvp icons. Thats gonna be awsome. And a title at the end? Nice!
a bit of a copy after FFXIV isn't it
Wonder if a forum silence will prevent me from being a Guide.I love helping new players and providing them with information but I had one slip in the forums cause of a heated argument and I'm worried it won't let me be a guide. Would be big sad.
If the new players can rate the veteran guides in some way, Blizzard can provide some kind of a reward based on that rating. It would give veterans more incentive.I think I've read that Final Fantasy XIV has a system like this.
Hopefully 13-year old me naming a Tauren "Hairyass" 14 years ago won't prevent me from helping new players.
This is awesomeIt sucks trying to meet people to do random stuff with in WoW now
This is good and hopefully the community will have a way to police itself to remove trolls. If the primary concern was abuse then they should never add any social game systems ever again
There needs to be a time on how long ago you were banned. Or maybe the severity of it? My boyfriend (of 9 years) logged into my account at home and changed my name as a prank and it got me banned. Also, wont be fair for multiboxers since most people think they are bots and unfairly report them all the time. I love helping people. I was a trainer for all my jobs. I even stop on my free time and answer questions to new hires on facebook when i am not working too. Would love to help new players as well! My guild helped me out back in WoD and helped me with raids and dungeons. Would love to pay it forward!
This is awesome <3
I was silenced in 8.3 for having an inappropriate name in group finder, after the GM confirmed I shouldn't have been silenced in the first place he took it away, would I be able to be a guide? The name in question was "CORPSE EATER WMON"
Something I haven't seen mentioned enough in these comments is that, wouldn't more people aspiring to join guilds/guilds being more involved or incentivized end up solving a lot of the problems or questions new players have? Turns out we've had a mentor system since vanilla, the game has just trended toward becoming a solo experience that people aren't getting the same social atmosphere exposure as before.
I really enjoy helping out new players so this is exciting!
I know many people who will be chompin at the bit at the idea of sharing their game knowledge.Sometimes these nice folks tell you stuff you've known for years and you just smile and say, "Oh, cool. Armor mitigates dmg? Nice." Or at least, I do to be nice. >.>I'm glad they'll have an appropriate outlet now.
