As some others have said, i think loosing the artifact weapons is sad and actually a bad move. It would be great to have a weapon that just stays with you after 100, and levels up with you. They are only replacing it with a different "artifact" which seems slightly pointless. Also random weapon drops suck especially as a melee class. The rest of it sounds fairly good though.
Here's the thing with the weapon drops: If gear in general, of any slot, works anything like it did in Legion, getting a "suitable" weapon will be easy with WQs. Blizzard will never leave even a semi-active player so far behind that they're just useless in groups or getting destroyed in the overworld, it's not in their best interest to do that. Of course, people that go deeper will care more, and will have goals in the form of a "better" weapon, but if legion taught us anything it's that "access level" gear is pretty much a given because it benefits no one for it to take forever to get to a baseline of decent gear at any time in the expansion.
İf we're gonna give artifacts to their former owners, the following thing would be happen:Thrall : Hey I'm back gimme back my Doomhammer... ... WTF is this windy &*!@? What did you done to my hammer?
I've known artifacts were going away since the start of the expansion, but I was really hoping they were just going to bake all the artifact abilities and buffs (other than Concordance) into each class once they get past Legion content. That way we wouldn't lose any player power, especially with the stat and ilevel squish. Instead it sounds like keeping artifact buffs/abilities will be the exception, rather than the rule, which disappoints me.Those things really are great for soloing old content. Hopefully getting to 120 more than makes up for their loss, in addition to the stats inherent from leveling. I'd hate to find myself having a harder time soloing WoD raids post-Legion just because the artifacts are gone.
Finally my holy priest can use a mace again <3
Warforged and titanforged will have a lower chance to proc.Since when is this good news? This only promotes even more burn out for players, forcing players to do lower difficulty raids to get that one best in slot item titanforged. It would be better if warforged and titanforged has an increased chance to proc the higher the difficulty, to not force players to do lower difficulties. Also mythic+. Blizzard should lower the item level on items from the weekly chest. In my opinion Mythic difficulty raids should be pinnacle of obtaining the best gear, not dungeons as easy as they are in comparison.
Perculia, im not sure im reading it correct, but I think you left out, that if you do the +15 Mythic dungeon before BfA, it will unlock, when you complete the Balance of Power quest chain.
i know right.that really sucks man, putting so much effort into AP and VALA, Get rid of it for some lazy ass weapon,we GOT AMAZING weapons, how can they be replaceable?HOW
Heart of Azeroth - Will it have a max level? or a max gain per week? Still seems weird that they stick with screwing over those who play alts. (unless it's bonuses would spread between all characters). It's what turned me away from raiding in Legion. I like playing alts. I have a full set of classes on horde and alliance. I'll play just as much (time wise) as others, but wont be at the level. Previously Gear was the only thing that separated, and that could be equalized with pacing playtime/raids with each character (usually raiding with 4-6 ultimately.. due to life/job/sleep/food/exercise). Just disable the neck bonus in PVP and share it between account bound toons in PvE. I don't like being penalized because i want to play classes of what WoW offers. Granted, this has subsided in Legion since shared AK.--statsquish - squish it into the floor. Drop it more. I don't look at numbers.. I look at bar comparisons. Numbers only matter if you're pushing content, and even then.. whats 200 vs 2,00,000 if it's all normalized anyway? Just incorporate a better scrolling text built in.. should help, as apparently there are quite a bit of players that still don't use add-ons <gasp>
Trading your Artifact weapon for pleb weapons + neck piece huh? some fair trade or another instances of forcing things in people's throat... Not as hyped as seeing the artifact weapons announcement but we'll see
Pretty sure all artifacts will have a separate storyline. Would make sense to for example give back the MM bow. While maybe Talonclaw will be "de-powered" or something.
Great gotta fight with someone else to get a new weapon xD
I'm thinking that the power contained in our weapons will the the only thing strong enough to contain the prison for Sargeras. We essentially will have a choice, either leave illidan as a "prison guard" for the rest of eternity, or destroy our beloved artifact weapons to seal the prison of the titans permanently. I think it would be a worthy send off to our artifacts rather than "Hey this random squid dropped a tentacle mace that is some how stronger than your artifact, better destroy it"
Gear and weapons have never carried over from one expansion to the next. I don't know about anybody else but I am excited to once again be looking for and looting custom designed weapons: something Legion lacked due to the artifact system.
