I don't want it, just cuz it says Intel D:
My machine is well over a year old at this point, but a login in dalaran with addons only takes about 20-25 seconds. Not sure what everyone else is doing wrong. I am certainly going to go with a SSD + a 10k RPM drive for my next rig, I just didn't have the finances when I made this one. Hopefully by next year a 256 will be down to $0.75-$1 per Gig
Keep in mind though that SSDs other than the ones based on DRAM have a limited number of writes, and certain activities like defragmenting can reduce that number. So if you are about to use a SSD drive, make sure you get a DRAM one, or, if using Windows earlier than 7, disable features like defragmenting and pagefile, which can shorten the life of the drive.
no need to "replace" your current HD, just set it as a secondary drive (d:) and have the SSD be the boot/windows/apps drive.
There are also serious issues with life expectancy and DOAs. If you get one that lasts, they are amazing. However, do some reading on average life expectancy before you drop the cash. To be fair though, most have excellent warranty and will happily replace defective drives. Though the loss of data is a caveat.
