To be honest, there are some people with motion sickness and the dragon riding my exacerbate it, so having regular flying in the future seems logical. Also it'll be the bow on top. I will enjoy Dragon Riding for a small bit but after a while it's going to start getting old real fast. I'll probably use it in RP or what-not and I will stop at *NOTHING* to get customization (I'm a customizing BEAST) for my dragon :)
Just leave it as it is. If you must put it in, put it in 10.3.You can fly, get over it.
I agree with this descision. Better late than never.
As a mount collector who had 450+ before SL launch (havent cared too much since). I honestly was hoping flying would not come to dragon isles. All wow mounts are, are skins (often clipping and lazy) and they really have no draw. Riding mounts in wow is not FUN, its just a slightly better chore than walking and thats the only desire for it, as a pain bandaid. After quitting since last march and playing a ton of Guildwars 2 i now know what fun mounts are. They make traversing actually enjoyable AND are fast and efficient. Exploring the world in GW2 is just a way for me to relax now, and some are even usable for combat now.Dragonriding sounds like just what wow needs for its mounted mechanics to not continue to be terrible. And if we can upgrade it to be faster than regular flying, all the better, moving through a grid on a mount that could be replaced with a black dot for all its uniqueness is not fun to me.If blizz HAS to add flying in to appease afk players... Let us on dragonriding knock em outta the sky whenever we see em. I will accept that.
blizzard should commit fully to game mechanics improving the game, the immersion and playing instead of tip-toeing all the time.-yes, "afk flying" should avoided (it's booooooring). People doing "afk flying" only does that because it's a CHORE to get something else _fun_.For example, if some people believes "afk flying" is a necessity, for the "fun" of catching some rare spwn, then it's the WHOLE hunting of rare spawn which is BROKEN and BORING and need to be improvedFlying since BC is breaking the game (not enough to make wow a dull of course :) . but yes it did harm to the game) : it's BORING. It's removing the necessity to engage with the geography, the land, of the game and it brings nothing to the immersion, feelings, fightings, and so on.Flying should be engaging, interesting, fun to play and ALL mounts should be a game with their own physics, possibilities and way to customise it/changes them to adapt them aesthetically and mechanically to each player's fun.-each time someone says "nah, Blizzard should remove that game mechanic or make it optional, I just want to get quickly my reputation/boss loot/level", a dragon-faery in Wow is dying.each time.
this was expected but still not what people want after these years ... once again like i posted on the original announcement post for dragonflight system ... THIS WHOLE THING IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY JUST SCRAP THE ENTIRE SYSTEM NOW WHILE ITS EARLY AND PUT THAT MONEY INTO THE RAIDS OR DUNGEONS OR LANDS SOMETHING ELSE TO MAKE THE GAME BETTER
i wonder what excuses ion will throw out there to delay normal flight in dragon land? im sure hes already got a long time gated ploy to drag it out until such time hes sure the players are bored and annoyed at the lack of content the new zones will have
this is the way. let people do stuff early and let them choowe how invested in the system they want to be and the open up regular flying in a patch or two. perfect.
If Dragonflight isn't significantly faster than regular flight, then it'll get abandoned as soon as regular flight is available. Ion's lip service about how it could become a permanent feature after Dragon Isles is empty if it's not going to be significantly more rewarding than flight.
What specific patch? I won't be purchasing anything with a string along promise.
