Diabolic Ritual now has its duration reduced based on number of soul shard spender casts, rather than amount of soul shards spent. This means we're proccing it less often, resulting in a smaller nerf on single-target and a more significant nerf on AoE.

- lee sin is destroying high elo, not just because he's powerful but because riot constantly keeps him that way on purpose because china likes picking him.
- riot goes on a 1-2 month vacation every Christmas.
- the last patch before the break, they nerf some underperfoming champions and buff lee sin hard.

the argument in the patch notes is "while lee sin is performing as expected in high elo, his win rate in low elo is due to complexity of the champion, so we are buffing him so everyone can play him well!" then left and saddled an already strained playerbase with an already overperforming champion that not only got a numbers buff but some of the timings on his mechanics were made easier to pull off. enter 2 months of lee sin permabans or else.

Players were rioting on reddit. People were saying they would quit on forums. The few "influencers" the game already had were notably more depressed. Less people logging on despite being over Christmas when everyone has off. My friends list had a lot of "logged on more than 7 days ago."

Within one year the hassan retweeting us dev team for wild rift was summarily fired, nearly every content creator/streamer/high-elo build maker quit, cash shop started adding "gatcha" elements, the battle pass became impossible to complete all the way on the lowest paid tier even if you played many hours a day, tencent took over completely, all promised future plans were scrapped, and the game has less players than ever remade (ironically) as a mobile legends clone.

I think we might have actually skipped over the "looting the treasury" phase of collapse in this instance with wow, at least riot tried to con a few more dollars before they torpedoed their own project. While funny, this is not Good for the game.
