This feels so...artificial, I dunno
Odd take: What if Blizzard made a RWF test realm of sorts, where every RWF contenders characters were copied over, and then allowed to begin together on that realm on a global reset? It would also kill the ability to do split runs; for those who don't like them, while allowing the raiders to all begin at the same time; even with resets. And once the race is over, everyone just gets copied back to the retail servers.
Gonna be a 1% kill. Make it a struggle that pays off. Well, not with that crappy plot twist, but with the satisfaction of beating the encounter.
I think the real problem is that earlier bosses died faster than intended. Blizzard probably didn't expect guilds to have >100 pulls by Sunday. The gear check, if it comes to that, wouldn't be controversial if the reset was in a couple hours rather than a couple days.
If it was downed before the reset, all the complaining would of been that it was too easy and under-tuned and Blizzard failed to make it hard enough. So either way, people there would be people not happy about how the race went.I can also see them changing the way the trinket works on KT. I don't see Blizzard banning anyone for it, but I can see it being hotfixed for the reset. That will make things interesting as well.
This is completely absurd and poorly communicated, no wonder people are ditching this game for FFXIV. The WoW devs need to pull their fingers out and stop doing &*!@ty things like this.
Then people would #$%^& about time zone diff and gear rng
Overtuned. Nerf required.
Love how painsmith proved to be harder than the later bosses, just a god awful tier design overall in my opinion with how everything works right now. As the world first could be sniped if a guild happens to get good RNG this coming reset if they don't down her in time. I honestly predicted a lot of issues we're seeing with this tier, I have a very strong feeling we will see a vendor for the sockets after the world first is over. As RNG power systems like this are just a bad idea and design at the end of the day.
Everyone asking "Delay NA's weekly reset a day for the race!"That isn't how the system is coded. It is NOT how it will work, because that then screws over EVERYONE ELSE not in the race. That means every Normal/Heroic guild, Great Vault reward, and every other weekly lockout, does NOT reset for an extra day. Some people...RWF is community-driven. Blizz has their "support" of it in the "World First Top 100 Horde and Alliance Guilds" leaderboard. That is it.If you want Echo not to be "screwed" then you measure their Days Available to raid.If Echo beats it in 8 days (Wed - Wed), but it takes Limit 9 (Tues - Wed)... then Echo wins, they did it in fewer days available. Not hard to understand.
I'm going to be so mad/dissapointed if limit wins cus of the faster weekly reset, and thereby getting better gear faster.
It's 45% for EU guilds, 50% for NA.
If this race is gonna come down to the weekly reset to get more gear, and NA wins cus of it im gonna be so *!@#ing dissapointed... If that happens !@#$ you blizzard honestly
I see they even time gated raid bosses now?
Guys Blueposts from 13th."The total damage players must deliver to Sylvanas Windrunner has been reduced by approximately 5% in Normal and Heroic difficulties."
It's ok, Echo will take her to 45% tomorrow and right before Blizz will release a hotfix to make it 40%...timegating a boss to require more gear, absolutely ridiculous and stupid. They could have done something "extra" but instead they just added more hp.
Hardest version last boss of a new tier requiring gear from current tier? INCONCEIVABLE!
I am supporting Echo and I think they deserve to win this tier and that they played the best on all bosses since Painsmith but if they lose due to reset times this might be the push that Blizzard needs in order to give us global release in future tiers. I can totally see that this could be the sacrifice required for more fair future races.
