Neat.
as an MMO with extremely few RP features I am blown away with the amount of inclusivity stuff pouring into the game and company for the last several years.
I really hope the annoyed line for her are fun sign language emotes to the effect of Sansok can't hear you being annoying"or Sansok is deaf, not stupid, and won't fall for such annoyances.
It'd be neat if there would be a way for players to learn the Centaur's sign language to communicate with Sansok directly rather than through a liaison, like slowly getting to decipher the weird symbolic language with Cyphers of the First Ones.I'm probably a minority on this front though.
I'm totally fine with this and have no problem with this at all. I welcome this addition and diversity. Great stuff.Removed
This is so cool :) Loving that there is more and more deaf/hoh representation in games. I have a deaf cousin who plays and when he sees this in game, he's going to be so overwhelmed. Fully abled people not understanding why this sort of visibility and representation is important or crapping on it - are just so ignorant to their privilege.
Let's not forget He Softfoot, the mute pandaren rogue. I always enjoyed reading his emotes.
Silly stuff
As someone who is legally deaf by US laws this is the best thing ever for me
Blizzard isn’t proclaiming anything, Wowhead is the one pointing this out “oh neat!”Some people are so fragile I swear.
what? didn't quite catch that
Oh my, I hope she has voicelines....
so do rogues win all saving throws when sneaking up on her?
While I am not snarking at them for (finally) including disabled characters (or POC, or LGBTQ), I am snarking at them for being embarrassingly "late to the table". At this point, almost 20 years later, it just smacks of perfomative allyship. Especially coming on the heels of their huge legal troubles. "Oh no! We're having bad press because of our horrible workplace toxicity! QUICK, trot out the token characters and make a big deal about how much we care about diversity and inclusivity!"If they had done stuff like this with POC, disabled, and lgbtq characters way back in Cataclysm or Pandaria, I wouldn't have thought much of it.
The dragon prince did it beter.
