The new UI looks great thus far. Ignore these trolls. As someone who has spent literally days in continuous hours on my own custom UI, these are the simple, clean look a lot of us are looking to get through ElvUI and many other addons. Hope the functionality is there to allow enough customization
I hope we can still use the old one, I can't use any addons for UI replacement, rather prefer what we currently have in terms of unit frames and action bars.
Hopefully the Map can be different shapes as well, thinking square with sizing options?Wanting to move and adjust my hotbars is what had me start using addons in the first place, second wanting "one bag". Eagerly waiting to see what this evolves into.
A default ui overhaul has been long overdue and it's only a good thing, considering not even devs who play the game even use the default one..
I prefer the current HUD.Never understood the appeal of modern clean design on a fantasy game. I like rustic.
cool.
Just played a bit with the new UI editor. My impressions:1. Needs snapping to the grid and to other bars2. Increase number of bars3. Could add colors4. Could add bordersSimple things like these would be an improvement!
I find them to be far too big and odiously in-you-face. Haven't found a way to reduce the blasted things down to human size yet. When they stop making their UI look like something from Lego, then I might consider it to be an improvement,ElvUI is still far superior imo.
Still waiting to see what the 'improvements' actually are. Major irritants for me are when it comes down to practicalities. Unlike others, I'm not afraid to say, "Hey! The King's butt nekkid".1 As a long time ElvUI user, the new 'combined backpack' is downright ugly, WoW 1.0 style - and the ugly frame can't even be moved around so that it's not interferring with the action bars on the right. Typically clueless code monkey stuff. Heck, it can't even be colored black to hide it's ugliness!2 Any new alts are no longer allowed to add the 4th bag you send them like you used to be able to do. Nope, that's yet another money grab by Activision, which leads me to the fact that...3 ...Activision still seems to be under the impression that all players were born yesterday. It's amusing that they believe their attempt to con us into giving them more personal details just for the sake of two extra bags is comical - especially when it means looking at 2 more ugly 1.0 style bag spaces chewing up screen real estate.4 Health bars and map - try again. Might have looked like the bees knees in 2004, but 1.0 ugly remains 1.0 ugly.5 Talents - ho hum. As usual, nothing practical, just annoying popups all over the screen like a rash6 I find the changes that matter (to me) to be in-your-face, ugly, lacking in imagination and utterly insulting to anyone who's capable of thinking for themselves and more importantly - for those of us who have known better.I'll stick with ElvUI - until either ElvUI ceases to exist, or I dump the game like I'm dropping the kids off at the pool.
