Why the whining over a community-achievement article like this? It's not like there's much other Wow news right now, so if one doesn't like reading things like this, one shouldn't click on them. But anyone who this applies to probably knows all that, and just likes to vent. I understand the need to vent sometimes, so maybe preface said venting with a Just Venting notice, so the rest of us won't have to read it. :-)Disclaimer: I've participated in several of DesMephisto's community events (he's currently doing a bunch of Tinker Overspark runs with people in hopes that a GMOD drops for them). And I got a carry from him to get my AOTC achievement. And I follow him on Twitch.
Nice!
We're not adding a filter. All due respect, skip articles you're not interested in. There's no need to open it if you're not interested and there's no need to waste everyone's time further by complaining about its existance. There's no money exchange happening here. We know how many people are reading these posts, and they're popular. The community at large appreciates them. We've never expected everyone to like every piece of content we opt to share, but we do expect everyone to be mature about it and simply pass on the articles they're personally not interested in. All responses should be on-topic and relevant. If there's nothing nice to say, keep it to yourselves please. Thank you.
every time I see these posts about his collection, I think cool...that seems like a lot of transmog. and it is. He does such good work, with charities and for the community, and is a great streamer. However, I recently came across www.dataforazeroth.com and although this is data from people's entire accounts, both factions. Multiboxers included, it still shows that having 2 categories of transmog 100% is impressive to most, but is far from having them all, as so many have accomplished.I just wanted to point that site out and bring light to the collection community, I understand why DeMemphisto should be highlighted, but as far as real collections go, figured there's people out there who want to know how extreme collections can get. Again not trying to devalue his accomplishments or downplay his work, but for those who wish to see some insane collections, including #1 in the world atm, who has 56000 100% transmog collection..check out dataforazeroth Also support all the guys who make "All The Things" addon, because that is the addon that fuels and makes all this collecting even possible. amazing addon.
Since people who complain are usually more vocal than people who enjoy, let me balance it back. There are a LOT of us absolutely loving these articles, and I wasn't even aware of his previous feat of collecting all plate mog. This article probably will make me get interested in DesMephisto's content a bit more and the dude is awesome and deserves the spotlight. Those articles bring people to light to the community and are not only nice, but a necessity. If you only want blue posts, get a feed to Blizzard news. And let the awesome people at Wowhead provide you with free amazing content in peace. <3
For DesMephisto himself, its great he's doing all that. The personal achievement isn't that notable, given how many people have done it already, but what he's done for others is where the real worth of the article here is.Its too bad its been stained by WoWHead's mod team editing and deleting comments like mine here. I had several paragraphs that they censor, and its definitely frustrating a lot of people.
Nicely done!
If Blizzard aren't planning yet, on immortalising DesMephisto and Rextroy by creating special NPC's in WOW, then they are truly blind and deaf to their Fanbase! The two of them have done, and are doing, SO much within a game they feel passionate about. So it only seems right to me that they should become a part of it.
that's quite a dedication
With all the respect, I understand the charity part and it's good to be pushed because of this. But, that said, this is highly disrespectful towards all the collectors who work on their endeavors and have done things like this (and this one exactly too) time ago and were not even mentioned. If you want to make it fair, editors in Wowhead, you should mention the others who previously had completed this or, at the very least, say clearly that he's not even close to being the first one achieving this, writing it so open that leads any reader to think this is the case.
This was his last missing sword? Looks like someone isnt a big fan of archeology. :D
An audio warning would be very much appreciated...
DesMephisto Has Collected All One-Handed Sword Transmog Appearancesmaybe for month or so, Shadowlands will bring more swords tmogs
As I am collecting swords myself I only wish these would drop for any class that can wear them. Whirring Chainblade for example does not drop for Warlocks.
