first boss is still too much of a challenge for pugs, one person missing one mechanic wipes the group, this is NOT how multiplayers games should be, no single mechanic missed by one person should wipe everyone else out, also why the %^&* do we have to spread across the map on a boss when the new evoker spec requires us to basically be up everyones ass in order to buff? blizzard teams need to talk to each other...
I'm all for challenge as long as it doesn't punish certain classes for not having the right abilities to survive. That first boss was a complete blocker with the shield and healing requirement if you didn't have a tank/healer who could pull that off every time it happened (which was a lot). Challenging mechanics are fun but not at the expense of having to exclude people who are otherwise decent players but just lack the tools needed.
