The Darkmoon Faire is now active for both NA and EU servers! Head to the Darkmoon Faire to pick up a buff that will increase reputation gains with the new Death's Advance reputation, but unfortunately it won't buff Archivist's Codex reputation gains.
Darkmoon Faire Guide
One of the main benefits of the Darkmoon Faire is the 10% experience and reputation buffs from
Darkmoon Top Hat
and riding the carousel
WHEE!
.
This buff affects all previous Shadowlands reputations, and many players were expecting to use their reputation to increase their reputation gains with the new 9.1 reputations. However, the Darkmoon Faire buff only affects the
Death's Advance
reputation but NOT the
The Archivists' Codex
.
Considering both the Season 2 socket item
Alloy-Warping Facetor
and Season 2 Conduit item
Death-Bound Shard
are from
The Archivists' Codex
, this is the more important faction but unfortunately, no increased reputation gains from the Darkmoon Faire. It's probably the same reason that the Human racial
Diplomacy
doesn't work on
The Archivists' Codex
reputation in that reputation gains are exactly a 1:2 ratio of turned in

That's incorrect. When you reach exalted with Death's Advance you can buy socket item for 1000 soul cinders

So it doesnt effect the one that matters -__- like why
My headcanon is that the Archivists' Codex is the Shadowlands version of archaeology. Think about it: You go around collecting relics which you turn-in to gain a currency as well as reputation/skill points. You can create/buy items based on that currency. You even have rng results from the items with the Death-Bound Shard/Canopic Jar (ok maybe that one might be stretch).
That is why reputation bonuses don't apply, it's a profession reputation. And now you remember why nobody misses archaeology in the first place....
I miss Archaeology, therefore your argument is invalid.

DMF also doesn't work on the fishing buddies from Legion so the idea remains the same. It only affects the normal "type" of rep.
Lets be honest they are just lazy/bad at coding
No, it's a very clear design choice- certain "reps" are meant to grow at a carefully controlled pace and so the usual rep boosts cannot be applied- Archivists, Fisher Friends, etc. They simply don't want you getting this rep faster.

I miss it too, and the Codex could've been a neater way to have Archaeology in SL that didn't involve digsites. Could've been a good way to powerlevel it unless they gave it an SL category like all other professions.
