The 3 people playing on those servers must be slightly annoyed about it.
Aw, come on now - we have at least 10 people between Cairne and Perenolde playing daily just in my guild alone! :)
Servers should be removed for one megaserver that has channels for rp, languages etc.And while you are at it rework the name system to allow spaces and give them #numbers.Server connections were originally done to hide the fact the game is losing some players, but who cares by now.
thats what the 8th connection they annunced and put off?of the 9 announced so far only 1 went through...
I wonder why it's not working out. They had problems last time they did this aswell, but I guess they didn't learn anything from that?
At least US realms get a Blue post with this update.Regarding the planned realm merges in EU there is complete silence since two weeks and no one has a clue when it will get resolved.
I heard on the street that the "unforeseen technical difficulties" were actually issues with the server hamsters and their union, Hamsters United International (HUI), and their allegations that Blizz was not following the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in regards to realm mergers, specifically the merger of already merged realms. I bet it will take weeks for the HUI and Blizz lawyers to hammer this out and reach a new agreement that the server hamsters will find satisfactory. I also heard there are issues with a lack of sufficient safe working practices during the pandemic that the hamsters are complaining about that is their real motivation to cause all the fuss.
I propose to add a food receipt to Shadowlands, which requires hamsters as ingredient...
What I had heard unofficially via chatter on my server (one of the ones that was to be merged today) was issues with the AH that brought flashbacks to the horror of what happened during the early days of the 8.3 patch. Except this time around it had to with the 'clearing' of the AH prior to the mergers and the items being 'lost in the mail' instead of being returned to their rightful owners.
Why wouldn't they shutdown those servers and merge them slowly and well? They could start at midnight and finish within 12 hours, then they could compensate playerbase of those servers with 1 day or even 2 worth of game time. I doubt people would be starting dramas, since this is for the best.
Unforeseen circumstances?Prepare for unforeseen consequences.
