Not sure why anyone is surprised. This is what the Horde has done for a while now. First Theramore, then Gilneas City and now this. It seems like what the Horde does these days. . .
I have no problem with her burning the tree or any alliance city to the ground.. but I do agree it is kind of lazy story writing "Why am I burning it? cuz she said i couldn't" and rather disappointed in the cinematic after waiting for it (legion pre patch was way better and more to do)It is war and not one ruled by the Geneva conventionIf losing means the eradication of your people what would you do to survive .. what would you do to win? A good WAR chief wins the war
To me it seems like sylvanas is just pathetic, killing innocent, desperately trying to survive, doesnt even care about horde, doesnt care about her own people
Next week Allliance will burned Undercity to ashes!
Hilariously this makes Whitemane's "You are no different from the Lich King!" reaction line towards Sylvanas in Heroes of the Storm really goddamned appropriate.
As a die-hard Horde player, this turns my stomach in ways that Garrosh never did. He was completely off his rocker and disillusioned, this is more, this is worse, this is MUCH darker - she knows exactly what she's doing. Also, for once it would be nice to NOT be the obvious bad guys. Come on, just once make the Alliance do something horrific. I really can't argue with anyone any more who says "The Horde are just monsters".
Blizzard blizzard blizzard. You really want us to kill her don't you? How can you even play horde after this?
*clears throat**Using Moderator Voice*Guys, I understand many of you are upset about this turn of events, regardless of faction affiliation, I get that, and I'm pretty upset too, but that's NO excuse to bypass the profanity filter. Its there for a reason. Chat in these forums is strictly PG-13, so please abide by the and don't try to bypass it.Thank you.Carry on.
The Narrative is always the same Horde's Evil every single time, so done with this garbage.
Friendly reminder that people are not uncomfortable with burning a tree, but with the "horrible" idea that they are not the good guys.
guess theyve gone from having sylvanas being all high an mighty to nothing more than a triggered snowflake. srsly blizzard a once great tree that was magical is easily destroyed with flimsy catapults cause a horde leader gets triggered by a dead elf's words? pathetic display of power. definitely turns me off from playing wow going forward. i dont care to play either faction anymore both of em suck now. you killed me once destroying azeroth in cata and specifically ashenvale and now you kill me again destroying teldrassil/darnassus. screw yourselves on a cactus whoever created this garbage
"At long last, we know why Teldrassil burns...." lol cuz Sylvanas got butthurt from some rando NElf. Deeply M O R A L L Y G R E Y
Man, wake up just in time to save the universe from demons and now my home is burning to the ground.
All of the "Horde not morally graey", or "Sylvannas too edgy, reroll alliance" people really need to chill. First of all, the Horde as a whole as well as the Alliance can both be seen as morally grey based on their actions. Sylvannas is not, at all. And you know what, I'm okay with that. Now, I'm not trying to justify what she is doing or compare her to Garrosh...but can't someone just do bad crap for the sake of being bad? Yeah, I'm guessing we will get a twist somewhere down the line, and that's unfortunate.Sylvannas has suffered in life and death, and it has warped her. Everyones tragic life doesn't need a redemption arc to ease their suffering or help us understand them better. No. Yeah, we could get the same ole "Sylvannas has had a hard life, so lets let her go down a darker path only to be slapped in the face with some out of nowhere redemption / someone else made her do it / nonsense"...OR..."Hi I'm Sylvannas. I've had a hard life, I do bad things. And I enjoy them so I'm gonna keep doing them" THE END
I recall reading a suggestion to have the capitals all burnt down except for Stormwind and Orgrimmar. I figure maybe not that drastic, but...perhaps Silvermoon and the Exodar next, if only from the standpoint that the Exodar is now isolated, and once Undercity goes next week, Silvermoon will be as well.I saw this direction coming the moment that the torch passed to Sylvanas in the first place. And we've seen how petty and single-minded she is in her desire to inflict her brand of pain and suffering on all who live. I pretty much figure it is going to take one of three possible routes - a repeat of Mists of Pandaria (Sylvanas as the final raid boss), a repeat of Warlords of Draenor (after her defeat, she initiates the events of the next expansion and then is killed by someone seeking to punish her - Greymane, most likely), or, given the near-certainty of an Old God angle, she has an "oh God, what have I done" moment and commits suicide. Again. But this time permanently. So, in closing: Enough with the manufactured outrage. Most of us saw this coming, and beating your chest and going "aww, I'm gonna cancel my sub" makes you look like you've just crawled out from under a rock and just NOW realized what you were getting into. It's not great, I'll admit, but it's also not that much of a surprise, either. So, if you're going to cop out and quit the game rather than see where it goes, be my guest. But do so quietly, because honestly, well...you're not going to get a lot of people who care.
