What a curious change to skinning.
Would be nice not to have to fight with bots to get skins, depending on how it's executed.
weird change to skinning depending on the wording but ok. thanks
I like that multiple people will be able to skin something, but not that we'll have to tag mobs for it to work. That is pretty major and annoying.
Well lets see if that skinning change will happen. They have already once promised this feature back in WoD (in patch 6.2), but as we saw it never got implemented. Instead the did the reverse and tap locked all mobs killed to the person who killed it, didn't matter if they were skinner or not. Ofc players didn't like that change as lots of skinning was wasted, so it was removed again quickly. So wait with the celebration untill it actual is implemented.EDIT:
still better then tailoring lest a drop is 100%
4x4 16 balance druids with starfall to get all mob tags 😂
Cool, now how about getting rid of faction tagging altogether?
This is really bad for the economy imo, I think it's a nice gameplay change, but feels like an incomplete approach - Blizzard hasn't done anything to increase the demand for profession materials for a long time. Why cant we get more cool mounts that ARENT on the WoW store or rare drops so players are required to farm/buy materials for them... this implementation would persist over multiple expansions like volatile fire/air for the Vial of the Sands mount. Also, it could potentially still drive Bnet balance sales for players who can't afford the mount in-game - however it would most likely be cheaper than a wow token by quite a bit (depending on the mats)... Gameplay first my a**
I've been waiting for this change for SOOOO long! Thank you Skinning! Now I can farm my skins for myself without fear of someone jacking them after I AoE loot everything. Amazing change, very much helps the self-sufficient players who don't give 2 shakes about the "leather economy" crap. And I say that as an econ major. Games are for fun, let me have fun, not be ripped off by digital currency in a fantasy game.
Ive tagged the mobs with someone who was already killing and tagging the mobs to skin but i they disappear so i cant skin them.
It does sound like a good change, but as mentioned, I am concerned about how it will be treated with the random player kills, a large part of my skinning is from running across people killing large amounts of enemies but not skinning any of it, so I end up hanging around skinning the kills and a lot of the time even helping with the kills.
Will the skinning change make a difference to SL leather though? I get so much leather from the command table and Queen's Conservatory it's just ridiculous. According to The Undermine Journal there are 111,000 desolate leather available selling for 2.23g on the Anvilmar cluster.
