As long as we all think that is ok for the CEO to get 40 000 000 in compensation, this problem and others associated, will never have a solution. This is a systemic problem not a individual company problem.A Bank have a huge loss and the administration still receives millions in bonus, just to give a example.
The big kahuuna gets big bucks, the higher ups get big bucks, the lower decks make minimum wage. Sounds like the current US administration promoting the american dream aka "once you make big bucks you dont have to give a flying %^&* about people who made it possible for you to make big bucks especially when they make minimum wage for you".Also I would like to see that spreadsheet.
this is pretty much any company. Lol. Especially in something like entertainment I can't imagine a fair playing field.
Thank god Bobby Kotick is being paid enough.
Keep in mind, almost all of these people could get other jobs that pay better. They don't want to, because they want to work at Blizzard. Blizzard knows this.
Capitalism.
Has been like that since looong ago, fk shameless
I'd care if the game they were producing was great right now.
Their statement sounds more like they are talking about machines than humans. Not that it came as a surprise though.
Say the magic word with me. UNIONIZE!
How sad is this ?That's the problem with most businesses nowadays. It's short-sighted. They only want the NOW benefits and that's it. They don't think about the future. Sad part is that as a big company chances are higher to get better results if you do invest in the people working for you. But they don't take advantage of this They could have made the best game ever if they were interested to do so. But they aren't. They're just interested in money and nothing else. That's why a lot of people who grew up with the game are leaving. You can clearly see that Blizzard is no longer targeting their old playerbase within their game design choices. They just want new sheeps to follow and be happy with their "Less is Better" attitude. But still, the way they treat their workers is pretty much the same in most companies. I mean at least in the EU, it's pretty much the same. OZ was really better when I was working there, but that's it, that's the world we are living in, and we have to be ok with it as there's nothing one can change :)Peace boys.
Scientists have just declared: Air contains oxygen!
Blizzard should pay competitive salaries to their employees, they are at their highest at the moment financially. The "if you don't like it, just move" mentality is exactly the same rhetoric some people tell to poor people from impoverished neighbourhoods. You cannot justify giving 2 guys 60M$ and having the bottom of the company live paycheck to paycheck, its immoral.
Pay your employees better, yah cheap bastards!
